Let's keep this place civil
Bold to assume the SC thinks a police state is a bad thing.
As SCOTUS said in Houston v. Hill: The "freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."

I hope they never fix the Warhammer 40k sign, for it is perfect
We're getting pizza and I'm obsessed with this slightly broken mural that used to be about eating with your hands but now it reads like Saruman's manifesto

Can @katmabu.bsky.social help Democrats grow a spine? The 26-year-old lefty Internet star is translating her online influence into a campaign that could give the Democrats a jolt they need and revive their chances with voters who want action www.gq.com/story/kat-ab...

Team Licorice! (But not team Coke Zero)
Krissy and Athena are visiting family for a few days and I'm on my own and they are worried I won't know how to feed myself but that's nonsense, look here, I have everything I need to responsibly sustain my vital life functions while they are away

Skaven was my army back in day too
I suspect that playing Skaven - the most random of the factions in fantasy - is training my control freak brain to accept the horror of reality.

Maybe it's known, but I would be interested to know what armies you have and why they are not 100% Orks
stocked up on more bullets, dried food and Warhammer miniatures. the essentials.

Reboot boo, it's already perfect. Wait, Neill Blomkamp, that could work.

Thank the stars I'm not the only degenerate who saw that.
"did you make that logo signifying Europe's grim duty to rearm in the face of a hostile United States and expanding Russia?"

"Sure did boss, made it real goatse just like you asked,"

The Crocs really tie it together, but I wouldn't wear it as well.
Still fits

Say what you will about Trump, he is write about that. Flooding us with lies and scandal dilutes them individually until they are collectively noise. Especially since individuals and systems have a breaking point for how much they can handle at once.
The lying ALONE is monumental (and politicians are already known for having issues with the truth...so it takes a lot to move that needle). But this is Orwellian levels of "flooding the zone with shit". Impossible to even begin to fact check.

As it was designed to be.

Similar to what I do at work (auditing) there is the look behind piece where it is all said and done and you are interpreting the objective data. Then there is the look forward piece where you try to subjectively determine trajectory and get a perspective on current performance.
I've tried multiple times to record a Common Sense show about what we are living through. I run into the same issue every time. It's not Trump...it's those who like him and what he's doing. I try to be a "solutions person",but I don't know what to do about THAT.It stops my recording cold every time.

Trump is a problem, but more broadly is a symptom of the challenges we face as a global community with constant streams of information.
I don't want to pretend we ever lived in an "era of truth"("Gulf of Tonkin attack"?JFK's non-existent "missile gap"?Reagan's "Welfare Queen"?) but clearly it's far worse than ever now.One wonders if there's a survivable level of lies the system can still function with vs a "critical mass" amount.
And there is your point. The problem is not Trump. The problem is not his followers. The problem is a concerted effort to destroy the concept of truth.

In the past 26 hours, the American national anthem has been booed at:

Ottawa Senators game
Calgary Flames game
Toronto Raptors game
Vancouver Canucks game

More to come. And it’s totally justified. We’re pissed.
