The UCP has made 2025 one of the darkest years for Alberta’s democracy.

Albertans can turn on the lights in 2026.

By simply being Albertan.

Let me explain. 🧵 open.substack.com/pub/drjaredw...

You don’t have to do all of this. Nobody can.

But whenever you calmly refuse to play along with “everyone supports us,” you chip away at the story populists need to stay powerful.

🇨🇦 HOW MARK CARNEY LOST STEVEN GUILBEAULT 🇨🇦

Prime Minister Mark Carney's deal with Alberta Premier #DanielleSmith wasn't just a compromise.

It was a capitulation. And for Steven #Guilbeault, it was the end of the line.

What do Alberta teachers want? They want real action:

- Cap class sizes with clear plans
- Improve EA ratios for diverse needs
- Fund schools to average
- Ensure fair wages for all teachers

Our kids deserve better working conditions for better learning conditions! #ableg #abpoli #Alberta #UCPFail

It is the overwhelming majority of the #Cdnmedia. They promote Poilievre, & they protect Conservative politicians.

It is a threat to our 🇨🇦 #democracy.

1/ New poll: (omg) Canada is now almost an election away from standing in 🇺🇸shoes, with a climate denying, antidemocratic, antichoice government heralded in (just like what happened in 🇺🇸) by affordability concerns, and a media refusing to ask crucial questions.

I think this essay, which is not about Alberta, actually is about Alberta. About the resentment and fear many in our resource sectors feel when they see - or foresee - the loss of high paying jobs that didn’t require much or any post-secondary education.

She will try to blame "AHS" but:
- it doesn't call the shots anymore, and is a fragment of what it used to be
- PH is completely controlled by AH (= govt) and has been muzzled and decimated
- all of her personally handpicked people (who she hasn't fired) are running the show

Congratulations to all who made this happen. Let's continue working towards effective flood mitigation in the province!
