<div class="field field-field-text"><p>The Israeli Knesset on Tuesday approved in its second and third readings the extension of the emergency law known as the Al Jazeera Law for two years, under which the Al Jazeera network’s office was closed and its work in Jerusalem and Israel was banned on May 5, 2024.</p>
<p>The Knesset also approved the law's conversion into a permanent law. </p>
<p>The law allows the communications minister and the Prime Minister to decide to close foreign channels and confiscate their equipment at any time, without a court order.</p>
<p>22 Knesset members voted in favour of the law, while 10 opposed it, including 9 Arab members of parliament. <br>

More than half the trans people I know are disabled, and many of us have been advocating for a synthesis of disability justice and trans rights for literal years due to how we are surveilled, regulated and denied autonomy in similar ways.

i got blocked for criticizing this but this shit fucking sucks. i'm a disabled trans person and the idea that trans people are somehow privileged in public and political discourse is wild. this kind of resentment kills solidarity and makes spaces unsafe for trans disabled people

So basically in the UK, any time someone regrets having sex with a trans woman, they can go cry to the police that she "lied" about being a woman and the police and jury will believe them every time.
Then the woman will be sentenced to be raped by men in men's prison.

This is a vastly upsetting case, that uses CPS guidelines that effectively mean if Trans+ people don't come out before sexual contact, they can now be found guilty of sexual assault - which is what has happened here

This feels like a posh way of saying trans conversion therapy for pre-pubertal children. In other words, they think gender incongruence (gender dysphoria) is a phase. Yes, children do experiment with their gender and gender expression, this is however very different from gender incongruence.

In 2011, he headed a Church of Scotland commission to look at gay relationships. The report is full of stuff saying God wouldn’t approve - and even asks for ‘biological proof’ of gay.

Ausgewogen? Nächste Woche findet das tazlab statt- mit fast 100 Veranstaltungen. Keine einzige davon behandelt die Situation in Palästina. Dafür gibt es selbstverständlich eine Veranstaltung zu Israel und eine zum "Antisemitismus" in Clubs- beide natürlich ohne palästinensische Perspektiven.
