Hey y'all, call me Ace or EconEnby. I'm a neurodevelopmentally disabled anarchafeminist researching eugenics, scientific racism, and the intersection of anarchism and disability activism. I'm AuDHD and have OCD and fatigue of some kind. I might also post about books and random special interests.

Once again, we need to define what “feminism” is here. Not everything any woman ever does—not even in the political realm, and not even concerning gender—is “feminism.” Opposing the rights of women as a class to equal status and dignity is in fact called “antifeminism.”

I...I honestly don't know what's worse. If the T&S on this site intended to insult a survivor (and really any CSA survivor) or if he thought he was being civil.

How is anyone, especially survivors of violence supposed to feel safe knowing they could have their trauma thrown into their face by t&S?

Some abled parents of disabled people are the most violent ableists. They use their children as tools to demonstrate their heroism in shouldering the burden of taking care of a disabled person, think they’re incapable of ableism, and say the experience of a caretaker is the same as being disabled.

So 💔 & angry… that Alice is gone, Teen Vogue is gone, community care is all but gone, but dangerous infectious diseases are still being given red carpet treatment. The disability, Long Covid, & ME communities keep losing people, & it doesn’t have to be this way. We can do better. We must.
Respect Alice Wong’s call here:
“When I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked either because they think the virus is a hoax, that masking is virtue signaling & a sign of weakness, aren't thinking about it, or that they simply don’t care, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving.”
COVID Isn’t Going Anywhere. Masking Up Could Save My Life.

It is very funny that this Pope is just going to get jerseys from now on. Everyone decided that's what this Pope likes and that is it. It's like if your grandmother got you a puzzle for Christmas one year and you said you liked it so your entire extended family is like "oh that's the puzzle kid"
Spike Lee just blessed Pope Leo with a custom Knicks jersey during his visit to the Vatican, just one week after the Pope was gifted a custom Chicago Bulls one.

About today’s “GenZ protest” in Mexico: foreigners please be aware that this was not rooted in the movement that originated in Nepal, this was a narrative takeover by the Mexican far-right.

Not a protest, not a social movement: a display of the political rot within a deeply disenfranchised society.

I'd actually argue that Summers' has such extreme biases when it comes to race and gender, that his expertise is suss.
I refuse to believe that Larry Summers' expertise and skills are indispensable in any way. Please find another economist and policy expert, @americanprogress.bsky.social. There are loads out there.

Please stop using language that suggests that people with criminal records are appropriate targets for this administration's violence. One in three adults has a criminal record. Stop playing sacrifice games with fascists. Stop surrendering entire categories of people in your own mind.

sort of an aside here but:

MRAs often argue that women are less likely to be arrested. what they leave out is that the reason for this is that barring exceptional cases, the governing (i.e., use of legitimate violence) of women & children is delegated by the state *to cis men*
usually that term refers to the state, but within the smaller power structure of the "domus," guess who holds the monopoly on legitimate violence? guess who it is that has the prerogative to govern the bodies of all under his guardianship, of wife & child?

Worth noting: many of these extremists are devotees of "The Camp of the Saints," wherein the social justice catechism of the Church is explicitly caricatured and mocked, and where the Pope and much of the clergy are portrayed as naive fools complicit in The Great Replacement.
The U.S. bishops defended migrant families. Tom Homan snapped. Nan Hayworth called Pope Leo a “tool of our enemies.” Tim Burchett accused the church of getting rich off of sex trafficking.

Matt Walsh, Lara Logan, and the rest joined in. This is what MAGA anti-Catholicism looks like.
“Pope Leo Is a Tool of Our Enemies”: Homan Leads MAGA Attacks as Hayworth, Others Pile On
It’s the latest MAGA attack on Pope Leo’s pro-immigrant stance. Disgraced border chief Tom Homan — caught taking a $50,000 bribe in a Cava takeout bag — led the charge against Leo and the bishops.

i want it to be clear that the "permission structures" for csa aren't limited to marriage and homelessness, those are just the types of parental permission/lack of parental "fencing off" that i've discussed here. csa can be "licensed" in all kinds of ways, by parents, judges, etc.
when you understand that patriarchy views children as sexual property it all makes sense. there's no hypocrisy. exposure to queerness & transness threatens to "corrupt" the father's property, to "lead them astray" into self-determination, to taint their future sexual value. CSA is permissible as >
Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.

YES 👏🏻

In @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social's "Hope in the Dark", she writes that optimists & pessimists are both wrong because they're both convinced of an outcome & nothing will change it. To be hopeful is to recognize the work is always worth doing, even if the results only come about when you're dead.
maybe i’m naive but i think it’s kinda doomerism to always be saying this is gonna take decades to undo or you’ll be old or dead when it ends. first it doesn’t matter, plant trees you won’t live to sit in the shade of. second great change is capable of happening very quickly

megyn kelly's argument is one that has been made in thousands of courtrooms by thousands of defense lawyers and has worked to exonerate thousands of rapists. rape myths are produced and reified and imbued with the weight of the state's judgement in the courtroom.

[facepalm] She does use say "a 'soft' style of eugenics" in the introduction, I just didn't note that because it was while she was summarizing what a chapter was going to entail. That being said, she does seem to prefer "preventive eugenics" as a term overall.
Reading Nancy Leys Stepan's "The Hour of Eugenics" and something that's surprised me is that, as far as I can tell, she never actually uses the term "soft eugenics" attributed to her, although she gets close.
