Books, yarn, and cats are all enjoyable topics.

Christian Nationalism is the trainwreck I can't look away from. I'll be posting about it and related politics. Even though books, cats, and yarn are better.

Tomorrow, the Senate will vote to either save the ACA tax credits or not.

This will determine if premiums will skyrocket for millions of Americans.

Pay attention to see if Republicans vote to help or hurt regular Americans.

That this chucklefuck can still come out and say that... Immigrants are living, with names and people who love them; they're educated &/ hard workers who have been invested in for years. Their lives and experience are in fact sacred, yet people like Johnson dehumanize and allow them to be tortured.
Q: Do you intend to advance pro-life provisions in your healthcare package?

MIKE JOHNSON: We do believe in the sanctity of human life and we think it's important that taxpayer dollars not fund abortion

Religion can’t be a shield for abuse, coercion, or medical neglect.

Protecting a child from harm isn’t anti-religious. It’s the court doing its job.
A child suffered panic attacks after hearing fire-and-brimstone sermons and being told her dad might go to Hell.

A judge stepped in to stop it.

Now the Maine Supreme Court will have to decide what's more important: religion or a child's mental health?

Will the Maine Supreme Court allow a mother to keep harming her daughter with religion?
Maine's top court will soon decide if psychological harm can affect a custody case if that harm stems from religion

I'm glad the "double tap" order is drawing justified outrage over this administration's murderous policy, but here's the thing: One dinky, easily intercepted boat that *might* have drugs on it poses exactly as much threat to U.S. security as a couple of survivors clinging to driftwood... Zero.

Courts have been clear: the First Amendment protects criticism of military operations, criticism of the president, anti-war speech, whistleblowing, and protests, even the loud, uncomfortable ones. Please stop complaining that the cast of Stranger Things is too old. The show takes place in the 80s. Back then children were smoking a pack a day, taking shots between classes, and working in the coal mines after school. If anything, the kids should have been replaced with actors in their late 50s.
