Abby Tighe was a federal servant in the division of overdose prevention at CDC. Her day-to-day job was working closely with local organizations to develop programs and initiatives for kids and teens, in order to keep them from smoking, drinking and using other drugs and substances.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.

It’s much easier to call a teacher/social worker/healthcare worker a “hero” in an attempt to praise their exhaustion as a required side effect of a job well done, instead of mitigating their burnout and exhaustion by like, idk, making the job better
