one of the weirdest things about the current moment is how the national media have to pretend like they don't know what this is about. official government social media accounts are posting about racially cleansing America and they have to pretend like it's not clear who the bad guy is.

It goes without saying that in the US you’re not supposed to have a masked secret police that snatches people off the streets without knowing if they’ve committed a crime. That’s about as basic a requirement for a democracy as exists.
Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

"“I was a bit shaken & a bit shocked of what I was asked to do.”"

The primary function of any law enforcement agency, its role in due process, is to deliver people suspected of having committed crimes to the court system for trial.

Not to convict.
Not to sentence.
Not to administer the death penalty.

And absolutely not to do all three in a matter of seconds.

Abolish and prosecute ICE. They did a murder in broad daylight today. Imagine what they're doing in the closed facilities we're somehow not even allowed to see.

Here's the ICE agent "defending himself" by shooting into the driver's side window of a car that's pulling *away* from him.

Put this photo on the front page of every newspaper in America.

Don’t forget the part BEFORE the murder. The part that already represented a wholesale betrayal of the foundational ethos of this country.

Also, though, the murder. Can’t emphasize that part enough. The murder part.

Trump is in power by brute force and by cowardly acquiescence, but he does not legitimately hold any office established by the Constitution, because that same document explicitly says he can't. And it won't take another century this time before this nullification of the 14th Amendment is undone.

There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.
