do you have any idea how much you have to piss somebody off to make them change their gauge
#Finland will begin to #Russia - proof its rail network, integrate with EU train infrastructure.

The Finnish government has announced the conversion of its rail network from Russian gauge (1,524 mm) to European standard (1,435 mm).

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

I hate long backstories. The most interesting thing about your character should not have already happened to them.

Tell me who your character is, how they learned to do what they do, why they're prepared to die for whatever quest they're on, and give me a detail or two I can build on.
I know I am in the minority, but I actually really dislike writing character back stories.

Last night in the #pathfinder2e Abomination Vaults, the goblin alchemist turned a Moderate encounter into an Extreme one by running off and opening a bunch of doors. Now he's on 4HP and I have to figure out how to introduce a new PC on level 10 of a dungeon. Nice job, asshole.

I got halfway through this process before realising I've already done it, but sharing for those who haven't yet.

If you're reading for 2025 awards nominations I actually have something for once.

A BLACK MILE TO THE SURFACE appeared in the June issue of Swords & Sorcery Magazine and I'd love it if you read it

Name 3 reasons folks may dislike your fave TTRPG:
Pathfinder 2e

1. They're put off by the number of choices to be made each level
2. They were put off by Mathfinder 1e (entirely fair) and don't know 2e is very different
3. It's *breathtakingly* gay

All of which are selling points for me but YMMV.
Name 3 reasons folks may dislike your fave TTRPG:

Pokemon Tabletop United

1) There's more than just addition to the math

2) Character creation has alot of involved steps

3) There's alot of book keeping

I will say for me all these are wins, especially character creation. So many epic options
Name 3 reasons folks may dislike your fave TTRPG:

Wraith: The Oblivion

1) It's unplayable
2) It encourages bullying at the table
3) It's too depressing cause focused in death

All of these are false, yet I see these claims constantly, especially when 2 & 3 also describes Vampire: The Masquerade.

Started Hades 2 a couple of days ago and every single character design is perfection. They absolutely did not need to make Hecate shredded but I'm so pleased that they did.

It's important to make broad and completely baseless generalisations about an entire industry so I don't have to be held accountable for my shitty business practices and complete lack of principles.

There are two obvious routes out of this:
1. James Bond is a codename, because of course your top spy isn't introducing himself by hos actual legal name in every casino and brothel in the world. A new agent is assigned the name Bond and we follow that agent.
2. Literally never address it at all.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Thanks to the incredible power of industrial-scale theft and wasting nearly all of the world's water and electricity, the most pathetic losers who ever lived can finally know what it looks like when a woman is happy to see them.
Elon Musk is over on Twitter posting his sad/pathetic Ai prompts.

The sheer bloody entitlement from the "AI" thieves is unbelievable. "I'm just a little indie guy, how am I supposed to afford hundreds of bespoke illustrations?" If you can't afford them, find a way to manage without them. Stock image libraries exist for this reason.

Kat is doing good work here.
An update on this. It’s really important. Still no word from UKGE but more people are commenting and I’m seeing that comments are still being hidden.

What’s more, the creator is firing back with a lot of nonsense. 🙃

After 65 hours of pain and suffering, I have completed Act 3 of #Silksong. 96%, which I'm happy with.

The road to success, it turns out, is paved with throwable sharps.

Last night in ##pathfinder2e Abomination Vaults, a goblin explained elven cultural norms at great length to an elf, thus inventing "gobsplaining".

Still thinking about the amazing rolling combat I ran in #pathfinder2e Abomination Vaults, fighting their way through an occupied building. 3 game sessions. 29 combat rounds. No PC had more than 30HP left by the end. Absolutely epic.
