Don't let anyone tell you people don't cycle in Haringey...figures from Forest & Lime show over 278,000 rides this July in the borough and that doesn't include people riding their own bikes. We need more infrastructure to support pedal power in Haringey www.minutes.haringey.gov.uk/documents/s1...

Technically, this is not a prescribed use of the marking - if it is floating alone, it should be for wayfinding with a route number, although having it alone is, I guess, trying to sort of do that.

I know it is often used like this, but it has no real value IMO.

🧵🚓 Last week saw the news that the police weren't going to bother investing the theft of bikes at train stations, if the bike has been left for more than two hours (so basically all bikes at train stations).

BBC London had the story, featuring our CEO, Tom Fyans... 👇

The Welsh 20mph default reduced casualties by 25% and insurance costs by £90m. If done in England expect reductions of 15,000 casualties pa and insurance by £2bn pa. Implementation cost would be approx £0.5bn. For comparison, 1st yr depreciation on new cars registered in England in 2024 was £78bn

✨💬We asked parents what they think about #schoolstreets.

Their answers speak of safety, community, freedom for kids, and cities that actually get better.

Every story shows that school streets are not just car-free roads, but places that truly change lives 💗 #StreetsForKids

Quite often when a driver close passes me or left hooks me, I'll overtake them shortly after (because cars are always slower than bicycles in London) and they'll be completely buried in their phones.
