Donald Trump wants a big, beautiful budget bill—there is NOTHING beautiful about gutting Medicaid for seniors, children, people like me with disabilities and veterans....

Thank you Senator Jeff Merkley for speaking TRUTH TO POWER! We appreciate you.

Not all that familiar with the New Testament, so perhaps some of the good Christians who serve in the Trump administration could explain how this gibes with their deeply held beliefs.

Remarkable reporting via a 5-person NYT team.

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Musk’s supporters believe that, through tech wizardry and sheer willpower, he’s slashing the federal deficit in a way that has eluded politicians for years. But this narrative has a glaring flaw: The Economist’s review of official data shows that his efforts have scarcely made a dent in spending.
Elon Musk is failing to cut American spending

Trump/Musk's firing the CFPB experts that protect consumers from predatory businesses and wild AI is a big win for greedy executives & tech bros and huge loss for the rest of us. We'll easily become unwitting victims of scams, fraud & theft without any oversight, protections, or accountability.
Remember those technologists I hired using an authority designed to bring private sector tech talent to gov, legally? They were looking into big tech.

Trump just fired them. All of them.

I’ve been thinking about all the challenges and how I get through it.

I usually don’t share much and stay reserved. My smile hides my pain and very few people know what is reality.

But this is the reality of how we go far.

👀 DOJ acknowledges making two significant errors during a court hearing last week on efforts to dismantle USAID

1) It said only 500 employees had been placed on leave. Actual number was 2,140.

2) Said only future contracts were stopped. Existing contracts were also stopped.

the “administrative state” in practice is a lot of very hard working, practically anonymous people doing the thankless work of making this country run and a drug-addled dipshit is slandering them in order to steal our money for himself
not trying to pick on this guy. this just reminded me that the federal government does not provide coffee to workers. to drink coffee at a federal office you generally have to pay into a "coffee club" that is managed by a staffer who volunteers to collect money and purchase a monthly coffee supply.
