Yuuuuup. Also, I don't give a shit if some of the worst people in the world think I am being performative or am virtue signaling. Fuck 'em. They don't get to tell me how to be.

Anyway, trans rights are human rights, y'all. It's not complicated.

To my fellow cishet dudes: when we are quiet about supporting the trans community, the only voices anyone hears are the Charlie Kirks of the world. Don't let accusations of being "performative" or "virtue signaling" shut you up - that's their whole point. Our voices are needed now more than ever.

There's a great tutorial in the @captaindisillusion.bsky.social Patreon teaching you how to model the Trimaxion drone ship in Blender. It was a good introduction to subdivision modelling. I think mine came out pretty well!

There a reason the protests are being covered differently from the Tea Party

The Tea Party was a front for the wealth class that owns the media and were used to demonize necessary reform

These protests were democratic and populist, which the wealth class and its media opposes

Hope that helps

Day 5, Wednesday: North Beach Park, Burlington, VT to Montréal hostel/hotel

Weather: very warm, very sunny
Of note: super-flat most of the way, bike ferry, no shade at the border, difficult-to-spot entrance to rail trail in Quebec, shadflies along St Lawrence seaway

#Bostréal
Two cyclists, one in high visibility jacket and black shorts and the other in red-and-white Bostréal jersey and black shorts, are riding side by side on a gravel rail trail causeway section of the Island Line Trail with Lake Champlain off to either side. Visible in the distance ahead is South Hero island. A scene at the bike ferry along the Island Line Trail: about 20 bicycles are arranged in bike racks on part of the ferry and visible outside the ferry on the dock are about a dozen cyclists who will be waiting their turn after the ferry returns. A cyclist in a red-and-white Bostréal jersey and black shorts is riding on a bike lane of a bridge with the sun above in a whispy-cloudy sky and the cityscape of Montréal in the distance. The sun is low and the lighting almost silhouettes the cyclist. Three smiling cyclists wearing red-and-white Bostréal jerseys are standing behind their bikes next to a grey-brick wall of a building holding signs that read: “Bostréal .. I biked 400 miles form Boston to Montréal .. bostoncyclistsunion.org”

Day 4, Tuesday: Lake Dunmore, Branbury State Park, Salisbury, VT to North Beach Park, Burlington, VT

Weather: warm, sunny
Of note: sunburn on calves, surprise at arrival
A cyclist in a black HUP jersey and teal shorts is riding on a hilly road with farm houses and farm buildings off to either side. In the far distance is another cyclist in high-visibility clothing climbing a hill. A side profile of a cyclist wearing a white helmet with a yellow rocket ship sticker and an orange high-visibility ribbon attached to the back. Behind the cyclist is Lake Champlain and a whispy-cloudy sky and the bright, bright sun. In the distance are the Adirondack mountains in New York. There is a boat and a buoy in the water, and the picture was taken along the Island Line Trail in Burlington, VT. A corrugated metal tunnel passes underneath the Island Line Trail as the pedestrian access to part of the North Beach Park campgrounds. Silhouetted near the end of the tunnel is a cyclist walking their bike. Two cyclists and the parents of one of the cyclists are standing and facing the camera, the parents were there to surprise their son and are holding a sign which reads “Strong Haul for Bost/real Dan & Jessie”. In the background is a car, one of the support vans for the Bostréal ride, and some cyclists setting up tents on the campground.

Day 3, Monday, Memorial Day: Townshend, VT to Lake Dunmore, Branbury State Park, Salisbury, VT

Weather: warm, partly cloudy, a couple of rain events
Of note: climb all the hills
A cyclist wearing a yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on a covered wooden bridge just outside the Townshend State Park Campground. Sunlight is coming in through a gap near the top of the walls and the roof structure. Three cyclists are facing toward the camera while posing midway up a 3-mile long climb, pointing up the road that still is ahead of them. There are trees to the left of the road, grass and trees to the right, and above is partly cloudy blue sky. A hand is holding a bottle of “Day-Four-Fire” spicy seasoning. The bottle label is home made and depicts a silhouette of a cyclist pedaling up a climb with fire blasting out of their butt like a rocket engine. A picture of a sunset at a lake. There is a grassy field that leads up to a dock with a couple of boats and a person sitting with their feet in the water, and there are a few trees along the perimeter of the lake. The sun is kissing the top of a mountain top in the distance, and other mountains are visible as well. The sky is clear except at the horizon where there are some thin clouds reflecting the sunlight. Light rays are streaming from the sun.

Day 2, Sunday: Otter River State Forest, MA to Townshend State Park Campground, Townshend, VT

Weather: chilly, mostly cloudy
Of note: off road (trails) option was well worth it
A cyclist wearing a black HUP kit jersey, yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on a rural road and waving to a cyclist wearing high-visibility jacket and light blue bike going in the opposite direction. There are forest trees to the left of the road and the Ashuelot River to the right. A cyclist wearing a black HUP kit jersey, yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on a dirt path surrounded by low brush and trees. This is on part of an “Inactive Railroad Road” (Ashuelot Recreational Rail Trail) starting in Ashuelot, NH and continuing to Hinsdale, NH, along the border of NH and VT. A cyclist wearing a black HUP kit jersey, yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on an off-road route of field and grass adjacent to a road. There is a sculpture of a Big Foot, roughly 5 feet tall and made of what looks like concrete off to the left of the trail, and someone has put a black glove on one hand. This is on part of an “Inactive Railroad Road” (Ashuelot Recreational Rail Trail) starting in Ashuelot, NH and continuing to Hinsdale, NH, along the border of NH and VT. A cyclist wearing a black HUP kit jersey, yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on a dirt and gravel rail trail path outside of Brattleboro, VT next to the West River on the West River Trail. To the right of the trail is exposed rock with moss and some water running down the face of it, and to the left of the trail is some trees and foliage that descends a slope down to a river.

Day 1, Saturday: Boston, MA to Otter River State Forest, MA

Weather: chilly, mostly cloudy
Of note: some nervous energy, minor body malfunctions, but jovial start
A gathering of cyclists at a park in Concord, MA. There are red and grey bricks that perimeter a grassy and tree-inhabited park, and there is a stone-encased drinking water fountain. There are about 20 cyclists, most wearing a red-and-white jersey that says Bostréal 2025 on it, and they are socializing and getting snacks out of a white van that is parked adjacent to the park. A cyclist wearing a yellow and grey jacket, black pants, and riding a yellow bike with purple rims is riding on a rural road that a single yellow line down the middle for a little distance before a town line when the yellow line ends. In the distance are two other cyclists. This is at the edge of Concord, MA and Carlisle, MA on Strawberry Hill Rd. An outdoor campsite in Otter River State Forest that has been set up as a group dinner location. There are over 20 people sitting and standing around the food tables, campfire, camp grill, and in areas to socialize and chat. The food table has an assortment of prepared, uncooked food and aluminum foil which acted as both cooking vessel for the grill and bowl/plate.
