HOLD THE LINE! If y'all fold now, all you will have accomplished is creating needless suffering while gaining nothing and teaching the current regime exactly how hard to turn the screws to get what they want.

Can we just pause for a second and think about the fact that we have members of our armed forces who qualify for SNAP benefits in the first place?

Way to shit the bed, @teenvogue.com.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Ugghhhh I did not need this first thing on a Monday morning. So tempting to fake getting sick so I don't have to deal with this but then it would just become Future Laura's problem and I don't want to do that to her.

Wouldn't it be amazing if people measured their wealth by how much they've given away rather than how much they've collected? Even if it was just a self-serving competition to get their name on the most things (looking at you, Carnegie and Rockefeller), those in need would still get clothed and fed.

No, no, wait, I've seen this episode of "Star Trek: Deep Space 9".
Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.

I don't get this "I never turn my heat on before November" (or whenever) mindset. Time is a construct and the calendar is made up. If it's cold in your house, turn on the fucking heat already.

This is the whole goddamn point of forming society in the first place - mutual aid and protection. It was never about who could collect the most shiny rocks.
I’m good with my taxes subsidizing social welfare for people who can’t afford food.
I’m enraged with my taxes subsidizing corporate welfare to businesses that won’t pay a living wage.

Failure to hold the door for someone a reasonable (within a few steps) distance behind you. Failing to do so without a good reason tells me you are oblivious at best and extremely self-absorbed at worst.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
