IN FACT, Dr. Demento is almost certainly eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the "Non-Performer" category (now known as the Ahmet Ertegun Award). Nor would he be the first DJ in the category, as the very first award in the category was to Alan Freed.
They just accepted Warren Zevon. Can you imagine how long it might be until they decided Al deserves to be in? And, IF it happens, do we get a new category? Satirists? And IF that happens, do we see Stan Freberg? Alan Sherman? And then what about Doctor Demento? Is he eligible? I think he should be.
