Are any of you going to do that one-chapter-a-day with Roger Zelazny's A Night in the Lonesome October this month?
Did it once, and it was fun, but not something I picked up as an annual tradition.

I am invested in the argument that authors ruin series by not finishing them.

The #1 current reason series die is because publishers drop promo so much on books 2, 3 etc.

#2 readers not buying because the series hasn't all been written yet - kills far more series than authors do.

Thesis: Worldcon COULD be good, but we may have to drag it there kicking and screaming.
On the Perennial Embarrassment of Worldcon
In the interest of fairness, I will begin with something that we already know: running a convention is hard. This is the one concession I will make: running a Worldcon really is hard. It’s hard in …

So. Let’s look at the damn request. The first line? Not too terrible a start. ‘Scandal’ is an umbrella term and thus too vague to be useful, though. The second line includes examples, but you need to list EVERY SINGLE OPTION or stuff gets left out because the llm will miss ones a human won’t.

Curiosity got the better of me and I tried my name in ChatGPT with Worlcon's prompt.
It turned out no correct information at all.
On the bright side it said I'd edited 2 SF anthologies that another Romanian author with my last name had edited, so if I had applied for panels 1/3

I made a printable tracking thingy for myself for reading/ranking of the Hugo nominees, if anyone wants to use them too, they're not all perfectly aligned since I just made it for personal use off a school schedule template I used last year too.

come for the boys kissing, stay for the amazingly wholesome forever friendship one of them forms with his aro/ace intended bride while solving murders and bullying each other 🥰
There so much this book does amazingly right but the fact that the friendship is treated as as important as the romance plot is very near and dear to my aro heart.

IT IS HERE! today is US publication day for The Gentleman and His Vowsmith!! 🎉🎉

i sat down in late 2020 to write a fun murder romance with idiot boys that i could share chapter by chapter with my friends and now that fun project is a real book!
The Gentleman and His Vowsmith by Rebecca Ide @devinmadson.bsky.social is on sale today!!

If you are in the market for a historical fantasy set in a regency inspired world with an arranged marriage gone bloody, a locked door whodunnit mystery, and men that kiss, you’re going to want to read this!

‪As @camestrosf.bsky.social‬ stated in a recent post, it appears some people on the far right are trying to slate the Locus Award, similar to what happened to the Hugos over a decade ago.

Anybody can vote in the awards, so consider doing so before the April 15 deadline. 1/2 poll.voting.locusmag.com
