My 80-year-old aunt told me she "got tired of streaming" and is borrowing DVDs from her library again.

So I checked it out and they have an amazing selection. Blu-rays too, from Criterion, Kino Lorber and other boutique labels.

Periodic reminder that Musk read several sci-fi novels by a Scottish social democrat about a society with no money, no scarcity, the ability to change genders anytime, and in which the villains were always rich guys or fascists, and his takeaway was "the ship names are funny"
also obviously Musk didnt know what mad max was about it seems

Parents are worried enough about the state of America's public education system. Reading scores have hit a twenty-year low, and chronic absenteeism is on the rise. We need to work together to reimagine our public schools for the 21st century, not bring a wrecking ball to them.

What horseshit from DOD that they "mistakenly" deleted pages on the Navajo Code Talkers, black Medal of Honor recipients, Jackie Robinson, and more. They labeled them DEI and deleted them and then got caught and now they're scrambling. Nobody changes a URL by mistake. Constant lies.

Thank goodness: after an outpouring of public dissent, Lackland reversed its terrible decision and will thankfully be teaching recruits about the Tuskegee airmen and the Women Airforce Service Pilots again. A reminder that we must always push back: www.expressnews.com/news/article...
Air Force says new recruits will again learn about Tuskegee Airmen
The head of the service's San Antonio-based training command said a video about the pioneering Black aviators would remain in the basic training curriculum.

Because all the cool kids are doing it... CRAFT SEQUENCE Award eligibility post!

WICKED PROBLEMS was published April 9 2024, and should be eligible for novel awards. The Craft Sequence as a whole is also eligible for the Hugo Award for Best Series, and I WILL be campaigning for that one.

Making some of the best RPGs I’ve ever played, easy to run and incredibly thematic with all kinds of nifty add-ons.

Do yourself a favor; check out the trailer for the next game, Spectaculars (make your own comic book universe in play), and Dusk City Outlaws (low prep heists in a fantasy metropolis)
A little teaser for my next project. Neon City Outlaws, a box set tabletop roleplaying game, coming in 2025. #neoncityoutlaws

boom comics wanted to re-issue the puppycat comics and have me make more. my condition was for them to go back and retroactively pay the previous artists fair rates as their original rates were very low and shitty. they agreed to something and eventually i found out it was gonna be low residuals.

This is one of my favorite, low-tech, ways of visualizing the past! Doesn't oversell the reconstruction, shows possible past and present in same view, works, rain or shine and without power.
An interesting way to help people visualize what a ruin used to be.

To ensure he can keep taking bribes and not reveal any of his donors, foreign or domestic, Trump has refused to sign a very basic ethics document that would allow his transition to proceed as normal.

I think most Americans don't realize how much this endangers all of us, and media is not saying it.

So this dipshit (Zak S) once claimed to be under NDA and working on a game I was doing. Why? Well, because he's a lying twatwaffle. But also because he and publisher James Raggi earlier tried to buy the IP from my employer at the time and was laughed out of the room.
Hey y'all, Zak S is trying to make his way onto Bsky.

Idk about y'all but I don't think we need his awfulness showing up here.
