"engaged in activities in support of Hamas" getting more and more meaningless every moment
NEW—DHS claims, without citing proof, Rumeysa Ozturk "engaged in activities in support of Hamas."

Among "activity" Ozturk engaged in was co-writing an op-ed urging Tufts to heed student resolutions to acknowledge the Palestinian genocide & divest from companies tied to Israel.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

I’ve worn them before, as a theater student, and I never found them that uncomfortable.
Hollywood also has a weird thing about corsets. There are a few costume historians who point that out effectively. Bernadette Banner one who comes to mind.

Corsets can be quite comfortable when they're made well and not tight laced.

My instinct is to make the case that USAID is extremely good, actually. But I feel like it’s more important to say, “What is happening is antagonistic to the foundational document of the nation.”

We worked for months with USAID to build an $85,000,000 project to end TB in two regions of the Philippines.

The project is funded by private money, the Philippine government, and matching USAID funds.

It could provide a blueprint for eliminating TB worldwide--except it's...not happening.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

Having positive things happening in my personal life feels like cheating sometimes when I look at how awful the world around me is going. How can I be excited to move into my own house when fascism is taking over and the climate crisis keeps escalating?

Her staff and others have been keeping this a secret from her constituents. So who’s been making these posts?
