Most (but not all) Black economists come to economics with a worldview that is outside of the mainstream of the profession. This typically includes insights from sociology since inequality, identity, and networks are areas with a longer history there. For an introduction to this, see the 🧵 below 👇
I don't know a single Black economist who doesn't cite widely and source inspiration from history, sociology, gender studies, Black studies, psychology, or a combination of all them.
Stop saying all [fill in field experts] are the same when a search on #bluesky would disprove that in two seconds.

For a leader who just crushed collective bargaining rights, rights of freedom of association, her own provincial, Bill of Rights, and so on, it’s not that far a stretch to suggest that #Alberta Danielle Smith would support this position.👇👇

1/ The attack on Alberta teachers by Danielle Smith may be sadly predictable - it’s also (obviously) unconstitutional and unacceptable.
It has nothing to do with students or improving the state of education in Alberta.

This sucks in all ways possible other than its a perfect example for my policy class about unintended barriers/how things get made illegal without the intention to make them illegal (pretty clear, right or wrong, the goal was keeping kids from operating ebikes, or unsafely riding on a scooter)
We have unfortunate news about passengers under 16 on e-bikes and e-cargo bikes in Ontario. It appears, they are not allowed. Read our blog for a deep dive on the law and what you can do in response:

E-Bikes and E-Cargo Bikes are a fantastic way to move people, but you may have to be 16 to ride as a passenger.
