Interests: listening to music from mid 1950s - late 1980s, photography, reading non-fiction and watching sumo and biathlon.
1 of 2: I wish YouTube channels would stop the use of click-bait titles. It's off-putting & I'm unlikely to watch a channel's videos after leaning that its videos content has little to do with the videos titles. Surely, others feel the same, so how can it possible be a long-term viewer-rate booster?

My Paphiopedilum (Venus slipper) stopped blooming yesterday. This spring it bloomed for the 1st time since I purchased the #orchid in the winter of 2023.

I took a photo of the orchid's #flower earlier this month.

Yahoo! used to charge me $143.88 annually for a Website domain.
A few years ago #Yahoo! sold its Website-hosting division to Aabaco, and last year #Aabaco charged me $247,99 for my Site.
Turbify now owns the Sites and a few days ago I learned that #Turbify would charge me $395.98 this year!

I hope #TheGuardian will end this "Register: it’s quick and easy It’s still free to read – this is not a paywall" nonsense soon. I have an account on your Site but won't sign in every time I want to read an article on The Guardian.

If your religious beliefs are so fragile that the existence of other people who live differently feels threatening to your way of life, then that’s not a reflection on their values, it’s a reflection on yours.
This is what he came back with after a week with his family and God— destroying other peoples’ families.

Sadly, people litter at least as much now as they did in 2019, when the photo below was taken. ☹️
The photo shows trash floating in a pond. The items looked clean, so presumably they'd been thrown into the water recently. There was a trash can right next to were I stood as I took the photo.👎😠

Bluesky might not be training AI systems on user content as other social networks are doing, but there’s little stopping third-parties from doing so. Per a report by 404 Media, a machine learning librarian at AI firm Hugging Face pulled 1 million public…
