Got lots of resources, we're thinking on exactly how to organize this and how to split funds. There are some great organizations, and some fundraisers that are supposedly going directly to help Minneapolis residents effected by ICE's attacks, so when I'm more awake tomorrow I'll look into them.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

I still have to use Windows for some things and it seems to be just about every day now I'm seeing complaints about it sucking in new ways. So here's a little list of tools I use to make Windows not suck by debloating virtually everything out of it that makes it bad and making it more usable. 🧵
Someone complaining that MS Paint removed itself then when they went to the Microsoft Store to install it, it says "The version of Windows on your PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for this product."

Panel 2 August has lived through multiple declarations of the end of the world and is fairly confident that the world is not ending. Or if the world is ending, it's happening slowly and painfully. August: No, the world isn't ending. Gustopher: But what if it is? I have to live life to the fullest. Panel 3 Gustopher is filled with determination. If the world ends, he's going to be absolutely sure that he has no regrets. Gustopher: When we get home, I'm going to pet cats and play video games. Panel 4 August: You do that every night. Gustopher: I live each day like it's my last. August and Gustopher went home, pet the cats, and played video games.

Thankfully, she's polite enough to inform the world that she is cranky so that everyone has the opportunity to escape her wrath. Ember: I'M CRANKY! DON'T TALK TO ME! Panel 2 Ember has decided to lock herself away in her room. She is letting everyone know that she is not to be disturbed. She might be angry with the world but she has standards. Ember: I WANT TO BE ALONE! EVERYONE GO AWAY. Panel 3 Ember closes her bedroom door. There is a sign designating it as "EMBER'S LAIR". The writing on the sign was decided by Ember who wanted all potential intruders to have an a feel of dread they approach her domain. Panel 4 Ember peeks her head out out of her bedroom door with a new declaration. Ember: BEING ALONE IS BORING! SOMEONE LET ME YELL AT THEM! Again, Ember might be super grumpy but she has standards.
