i realized years ago that some people either forgot how or never started doing this, just picking random bits of art & culture floating around without knowing something about it beforehand. or maybe you always avoid things your friends say are bad. try everything!! taste comes with volume

This is really worth a read, and I'm saying this as a Demonschool fan - I've not rolled credits and so there's a nonzero chance that the tone loses me in the back half, but so far it's been landing in my appreciation zone instead of my distaste zone. And yet, everything Iro says is accurate!
I had a strong first impression of Demonschool but lost enthusiasm as it became clear that flippant internet-brained humor was the game's sole tone.
