Submitted a “ticket” to my husband to make a network modification, and he resolved it with ticket number “676767”. He is merely school adjacent, yet being influenced by the teens.

Look what's on sale today -- LOVE IS A WAR SONG by Danica Nava! I really enjoyed this one, and the cover is so pretty, too. You can grab a copy for only $1.99 but hurry before it goes back up!

Getting a text saying “hey we accidentally reordered your Butter Braid list from last year, do you want them?” Was the best surprise. Kiddo with a mouthful saying “this is gooooood” gave me the biggest laugh of the week

Daniel Tiger is very apt today with Daniel is sick / Mom Tiger is sick, when both of us are (again) coughing up a lung

Kiddo doesn’t do strollers, so we didn’t bother with it walking through the tree lights. And it went exactly as expected with kiddo running ahead and when i asked to slow down, I was reminded that walking is for inside and running is for outside. And we were currently outside. 3 year old smartypants

Watching A Bug's Life with the toddler and realizing that they really did feed us millenials a steady stream of underdog fight the establishment stories and then got confused when we paid attention to the plot line when we grew up.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

There's no such thing as an ethical billionaire, but when "being the owner of the art you've created" is the only thing that grants you that status, I think we can all agree it's incredibly odd to not make any distinction there? It's a unique position no one else has ever been in

Watching my D3 alma mater play in the playoff quarterfinals at home is very stressful. Also side-eyeing the refs that seem a little biased toward the other team?? Thankful they are up 28-7 with 6 minutes left in the third despite some missed flags

Kiddo is thoroughly enjoying The Blues Brothers soundtrack. Yes, we do listen to kid music, but we are also semi-hiatus saxophone musicians so the jazz education starts early

In today's feed-yourself thread:

Sometimes you just want mac and cheese. And you're not ready to make bechamel sauce and bake it and do it fancy-like. You've got a box mix. You'll be eating in 15-20 minutes, yeah? That's the best!

But I have a few suggestions to upgrade your box mix.

Trans people are not why your healthcare costs are high. Neither is abortion.

Healthcare costs are high because the US has decided the ability to stay alive is a for-profit business.

Among many other issues, you shouldn’t be paying for hospital and prescription advertising.

Weirdest “getting carded” situation to date: asked if i was in college (laughed and said no), then asked for my ID to buy beer, then asked if i get carded a lot and i said “yes even when I’m with my husband and kid” and…was my husband assumed to be my dad?? I don’t know. Just baffled
