I mainly think about housing, migration, democracy, New York State, basketball, and books.
The NYC Democratic party is weak because it is run by charlatans and grifters who want to enrich themselves and couldn't give less of a damn about politics. We need to kick all of them out.
Some have complained that story I've been writing about involving Brooklyn Dems power broker Frank Seddio and an alleged recurring escrow-theft scam is kind of tangled and hard to understand.

But as this chart in today's story makes clear, it's simple really:

NEW: ProPublica went inside the detention center for immigrant families in Dilley, Texas.

Children held there told us about the anguish of being ripped from their lives in the United States and the fear of what comes next.

Jeffrey Epstein sent a link to the white nationalist podcast The Right Stuff, whose core hosts played an active role in the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally. He did so in February 2016. Before TRS made national news, really.

Genuinely bizarre.

You can call the governor today.

“My name is X. I live in X, zip code X.
I am calling to urge the governor to support and sign the New York 4 All Act. If she does not, I will support her opponent in the primary this summer.”

Add any details you like, like prosecuting ICE agents under NYS law.
If you're in New York, please take two minutes right now to call Governor Hochul and tell her to support and sign New York 4 All, which would prevent state and local agencies from collaborating with ICE.

518-474-8390.

This is important.

I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS

I find a universal quality among Americans is our absolute loathing for anyone who mentions an ancestor came on the Mayflower
If immigrating from England makes you a "heritage American" then I guess I'm one too.

I just don’t think we’re freaking out enough about this SNAP cut. I have spent my whole career working with people who rely on SNAP for food. People who work multiple jobs. Who have kids. What do you think happens when 1/8th of the population can’t buy food anymore? Everything is going to collapse.

New housing stops landlords from raising rents—take it from the CEO of AvalonBay, one of NYC's largest landlords:
"We're well-positioned… we face significantly less new supply. Land entitled for multifamily is hard to come by, the amount of time it takes to get those entitlements… sets us up well.”

Andrew Cuomo is a vile racist piece of shit. Democrats need to tear this bigotry from the party root and stem
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."

This is good, from Hakeem Jeffries. More of this please, in every conceivable forum:

"Sycophants who aid and abet the President’s vengeful schemes will not be able to hide from the serious legal consequences of their behavior. They will be held accountable."
