We have to listen to bigoted handwringing about how we have to abandon trans people and marginalized communities and immigrants while the clearest election winning message is right there.

No: 8%

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

Sobering news for a lot of top Democrats, tonight, as they realize people would prefer they actually fucking do something.

why is this mayoral election different than all other mayoral elections?

in all other mayoral elections, we get to see andrew cuomo lose but once. but in this mayoral elections, we get to see him lose *twice*.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

When figures from my youth die, my first instinct is to call my dad and tell him. The problem is that my Dad’s been gone 13 years.

My second reaction is to be so angry and shocked that these jerks all got so many more years than my dad did. Grief, man. Ya never know when it’s gonna get you.

Here's your periodic reminder that political centrism is nonsense. There is no middle ground between democracy and oligarchy.

Brad Lander: "I also need to thank some of the most important people in my life and on this campaign—I mean, of course, the NYT editorial board. Just kidding, of course: I love Wordle and Connections, but I really urge the Times to cancel their new feature 'Editorial Riddles.' No one likes those."

It’s hard to overstate how angry rank and file Dems are at the Dem establishment right now. And if I were a self-preservationist incumbent I would take note.

Reminder that seven Democratic senators voted to confirm Kristi Noem and six Dem senators declined to vote either way.

She was confirmed, 59-34.

The good faith experiment is clearly over, and we need the Democratic senators who didn't stand against her nomination to be loud as hell right now.

It’s so funny how the same centrists arguing Democrats should pivot away from identity issues are also incredibly weak on economic issues.

Rahm is like, let’s stop talking about bathrooms and start talking about means tested tax credits.
Bitch you're the only person talking about this shit! This is letting the other side dictate the debate!

We've been beaten over the head with Alexander Hamilton quotes for a decade and yet party leadership still hasn't internalized the easiest thing: "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything."

Just arrived home from the endorsement meeting, and these are my thoughts:

@socialists.nyc is the only organization capable of producing a candidate like Zohran.

@nywfp.bsky.social is the only organization capable of cohering the organized Left.

I'm very proud of both of my orgs.

Let's win this.
As NYWFP works to consolidate support around its slate of candidates, we're proud to rank @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social #1 🥳

To give voters clear guidance, we're ranking a full slate of 5 candidates. When we unite, we can defeat Cuomo & elect a mayor who fights for us. Let's get this done!

yall we can’t collectively screech that “no one’s doing anything!” and then say “no not like that” when someone actually does something.

is Booker’s filibuster gonna save the world? of course not. but since courage begets courage it could lead to more. I’m fucking cynical as hell but come on.

I’ve changed almost all my donations to the @workingfamilies.org party. It’s the only mechanism I believe can impact the change we need.
I know I keep saying this but the past month has really radicalized me against the Democrats in a way I never was before.
Mark Warner on Fox: "I may disagree with the president, but I respect the office of the president. I'm probably not gonna be jumping up applauding a lot, but I owe him his due as president. The president has made great, great progress on border crossings. That's something we ought to celebrate."
