Then Blue states can also withhold federal tax dollars to repair the federal highways themselves, or ban any federal vehicle from using roads in their states. That’s a stupid threat that will backfire. Interstates will shut down due to inability to repair. That’s a national security threat.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

Had SCOTUS not eviscerated the Civil Rights Act, the Republican Party would have many, many years ago understood that it needed to tack to the center in order to hold significant political power in Washington. But the Act was eviscerated, convincing them that a tack to the far right was profitable.
