Incredible how much joy a gf vanilla cake can bring to the family, especially the 3yr old. Banana instead of egg, dragonfruit in the icing, gf&df cream in the middle with more dragonfruit. Boom.

The #1 reported reason people avoid doctor’s appointments is because they’re afraid of finding out they have a serious illness.
If you have that fear, that’s normal and you’re not alone. Also remember, there is basically no serious illness that isn’t less serious if you catch it sooner.

Today I had a patient ask if I could be her regular GP. As I have just started my GP training this feels like a big compliment.

Today my toddler carried a baby doll around with him, he has not played with this toy for months. Some highlights
- decided it name was the same as his
- proudly stating that the baby had grown and was “a big boy just like me”

Reminder that the wording at the end of Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners should be 'we acknowledge First Nations people here today'
...not 'any' First Nations people.
The latter wording implies they wouldn't ordinarily be there. It's like saying 'ladies.. and any gentlemen'.

The concept of family doctor is a powerful one for patients. This continuity of care is better for us in General Practice too.

Today I worked a locum (casual) shift in a department I spent 3 months in earlier in the year. It was a nice feeling to be in a place the nursing staff know and trust me, even though I was only there for a day. #juniordoctor
