@robinince.bsky.social is an honourable man. Deep respect for taking this stance.👏👏👏
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

What we found in the Disability literature is enduring whiteness, written by white scholars focused on white children. But I kept saying a disability label does not erase a child's Blackness. In fact, a disability label works differently for Black children than it does for white children. So=DisCrit

I've tracked death by suicide of Trans youth in the UK since 2017. Leia's is the 25 death of Trans youth age 18 & under.

- Feb 2017 to November 2020 9 deaths.

Following Bell v Tavi (Dec 2020) & removal of access to healthcare

- December 2020 to June 2024 16 deaths.

Our Government is culpable.

My heart grieves for Leia Dorothy Pandora Sampson-Grimbly.

"Leia was 17 years old at the time she died a beautiful person inside and out, complex, kind, fair, intelligent, determined, dedicated and talented with a great future ahead of her and greatly loved by all who knew her".

Remember her.

Leaving the ECHR would allow the State Pension, the Minimum Wage, Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, Paid Holiday and working hour limits to all be abolished.

They would make hundreds of billions from this.

That is what they want.

Dear @tacc.org.uk as CEO of TransLucent, which is trans led (myself and Prof Stephen Whittle OBE) can I just confirm we have not met with the EHRC for likely 18 months. We will confirm the actual date as soon as we can.

As always, thank you for your hard work to support trans human rights.

We asked the EHRC whether they consulted any trans, intersex or LGBTQ+ groups before intervening in the 2024 Supreme Court case For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers.

Their answer? They didn’t. 1/

Farage and co. will tell you to point the finger at migrants.

Don't fall for it.

What words remain for a government that goes to court to insist it be allowed to continue selling weapons to a state committing genocide, then sends a letter of complaint when those weapons are used?

I quite agree.
It is very hard to see how the UK government can sign this statement, which makes it absolutely clear that it recognises that Israel is committing - as a matter of state policy - deliberate and systematic war crimes, without at a minimum cutting all military cooperation with Israel.

Good grief, what is this country coming to?
Devastating stats from the @cpaguk.bsky.social & @rcpch.bsky.social survey of paediatricians.

🔸 99% reported that poverty is contributing to ill-health among children they treat.

🔸 96% said that poor housing conditions are affecting the health of children they treat.

And the Universal Credit bill has passed. Some of the sickest people in the country will suffer needlessly more now. There is no justification, no excuse. Just ugly, cruel choices by ministers too cowardly to tax the wealthy rather than cut the poor. A shameful day for Starmer’s Labour.
