This shit is fucking insane. There are people who spend hours a day dealing with this! Everyone driving their kids every day can fairly obviously not scale and makes our already-terrible built environments even more intolerable!

Rep. Sarah McBride may be the first openly trans member of Congress, but the historic nature of her role is something she rarely addresses publicly — except for today.

“All Republican politicians care about is making the rich richer & attacking trans people," she said today.

My dispatch @ms.now 👇
Rep. Sarah McBride makes rare personal remarks in opposing anti-trans bills
“My biggest regret in life is that I never had a childhood without that pain,” the congresswoman said on the steps of the Capitol on Wednesday morning.

The funny thing to me is that we rushed so hard to "get kids back into schools" exposing them to COVID bc "distance learning is learning loss" for them to stare at a screen and talk to the autofill program that guesses wrong.

We could have put that money to air filtration and teacher salaries.

The games industry brings in 300 billion dollars a year. The guy who made DOOM gets his projects canceled, the guy who made Katamari Damacy is broke, everyone in your feed is begging for a job and there are 50 new games coming out on Steam every day all going towards buying Gabe Newell's next yacht
Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam, Noby Noby Boy) has moved back to Japan, and says he may be forced to quit the games industry due to To a T underperforming.

He also says he'd love to work on Katamari again, and for someone to invest in his studio.

He’s an evil, drug-addled predator

And it’s absolutely mad that we’ve hand him control over the most advanced scientific and medical system in the history of the world.

Your regularly scheduled reminder is that Slay The Princess was Black Tabby's short-form side-project. A showcase in how much reactivity they can cram into a single sitting.

Scarlet Hollow is their BIG visual novel and plays the long game on all of your decisions. They WILL matter.

The fact is no presenter has ever had to leave the BBC for expressing conservative views, or even explicitly endorsing a right-wing party.

Was never a problem for Jeremy Clarkson. Was never a problem for Andrew Neil. Was never a problem for Alan Sugar

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

I love when a white guy online is like "don't you want to move to a small town and secure the existence of our people and a future for white children?" and then gets confused and angry when you say no
If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

This overlaps with a challenging mode of decision-making in orgs: validation.

I've made a decision, and invested some effort into executing it. Now I need you to validate that decision.

If you find any problems we can still fix, we'll fix them. But if you find problems we can't fix — don't.
Per my last re-post, twice this year I've been commissioned to write reviews of harms that can arise from the use of LLMs and then, as we surface the harms, told
it's not appropriate to be political.
But LLMs are a deeply extractive technology, they are political by design.

people need to understand this. we would literally be better off doing NOTHING about murder and rape than what we are currently doing
And studies have also found that zero tolerance and carceral solutions to sexual violence and domestic abuse actually INCREASE both recidivism and frequency.

So the data says that what we're doing now is literally worse for violent crime than doing nothing at all.

Repealing Section 230 would chill free speech by allowing platforms, not users, to be held responsible for what its users say. Platforms will become much more censorious over what its users can post. This is extremely bad
They're trying to rush it. Call your reps, don't let them
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

Something I have to reiterate is that you are being straight up lied to about trans people and our healthcare on an unfathomable scale, this instance reporting is already being torn to shreds by other people commenting, but the frequency of this kind of reporting is astonishing, it's neverending.
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.
