Boards Chair here - before our BOT passed a motion affirming our commitment to Te Tiriti, I received emails from parents and teachers urging the board on.

The union never said a word.

Amazing that reaffirming a commitment to Te Tiriti is viewed as "anti-govt" (his words)

If you have a dairy that got ramraided six times by the same kids and then they turned up one day outside asking everyone to contribute to “help make the dairy good again” then you’ll know what it feels like to hear National pledge to make our super savings as good as Australia’s

This is pretty much for
me too #SecretSantaAoNz - although i don’t drink coffee - just water, Lady Grey and wine! Don’t do “craft” but aure appreciate it and love animals, gardens, food books music art and smelly candles!! Have pierced ears, love blue/greens black and white and stationary!
For my #SecretSantaAoNZ - simple and easy and whatever works for you. Ideas: bees, notebooks, gardening, anything handmade if you're a maker, cards, crochet, needlepoint, coffee, herbal teas, sweet smelling things, something *you* love and want to share.

Willis cancelled IREX because the final cost was going to be $3bn

Ferries that are critical for goods transport.

$4bn for a tunnel so politicians can get to the airport faster? And that’s before the costs escalate as they always do.

Sounds pretty dumb to me.

$4 BILLION to save 'up to 10 minutes' during peak traffic. Fucking hell - imagine what that $4B could do for housing, education, health, etc, in Aotearoa.

It is taxpayer money. And the idea that 36000 new tourists will come here because a few restaurants have 1 or 2 Michelin stars is really out there...😠

Just your regular reminder of the profound conflict of interest at the heart of the Luxon fast track: Chris Bishop is both chair of the National Party Campaign Committee, dependent on business donations, and as Infrastructure Minister decides which businesses get access to the fast track.

I've eaten in Michelin starred restaurants. The food was interesting, and it certainly was an experience, but in the end it was a lot of money to eat foams, airs, gels, and to not have anything to actually bite into.

Aotearoa can do better.
Another spot on bit of writing from The Spinoff...

This shows appalling judgement - there must be an alternative? Where are the decent people?
Emily (Emily Writes) and I drafted a letter to Andrew Little about his decision to appoint Ray Chung as chair of the CCO Review & Appointments subcommittee. We think this is unacceptable given his past behaviour. Here's a template for a letter if you agree:

Really, Andrew Little?
Andrew Little has appointed Ray Chung to head an important Wellington City Council committee. We don't think he should be doing that. If you agree, please tell him so. Here's how.

Fonterra brands sale is gonna bring some unintended consequences for farmers re the creeping nitrification of Canterbury water.
They’ve now lost their social licence to pollute our drinking-water aquifers with nitrate from over-stocked and irrigated paddocks with cow urine and factory fertiliser.
