If you are a Random Dude On The Internet With An Opinion who wants to debate, leave me alone. I do not want to engage with you. Pretend you can't see me. I am not interested in your thoughts or debating some inane shit with you.
My hip has been doing something silly so I asked a PT friend if I should see the doctor. Their answer was basically: "If it does this thing with someone else moving your leg around for you, then...yeah." Going to be fun for husband to come home from a long day and have to wiggle my leg around for me

The Congressional Progressive Caucus, a group of nearly 100 House Democrats, will announce later today that it's formally endorsing legislation to strip $175 billion from ICE and put it toward affordable housing. www.huffpost.com/entry/doj-fe...

“But what do you expect Democrats to doo-hooo?”

1) Refuse to fund this criminal government anymore.

2) EVERY one of them call to abolish ICE (and bonus, DHS). No more “they need training” shit. Promise prosecutions.

3) EVERY one of them call for Trump’s impeachment, relentlessly, EVERY day.

When the world is super-shitty, I tend to fixate on the small, personal social spaces that I have control over and want to really kick/limit/etc. some of the people who have access to spaces I deem "mine". I don't think that's uncommon or weird but I do feel guilty about it when it comes to

just a reminder that we aren’t even seeing the worst of what is happening in Minneapolis from someone detailed at the Whipple Federal Building yesterday

Democrats need to realize ICE isn’t just—or even primarily—a mass deportation force.

ICE is also Trump’s most loyal internal security force which will be used to attack regime opponents and try to steal the election. They should defund his authoritarian capabilities.

Any Democratic votes to fund DHS later this month as Minneapolis is being terrorized by DHS is going to be a major slap in the face to Americans living here. Demand major reforms or shut the government down.

Yes but sadly so many didn't. Most liberals didn't. A lot of leftists didn't. This piece is great:
The Americans Who Saw All This Coming—but Were Ignored and Maligned
Call them the Cassandras: the people—mostly not white and male—who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they “alarmists,” and how did “anti-alarmism” become cool?

I’ll never understand people whose entire political belief system is based on whether or not they find a form of protest annoying or cringey rather than if they agree with the point of the protest
Immense skill issue to not have found this immediately obvious in 2016

ICE totaled this car, abducted a woman, and then left it in the middle of Snelling Avenue, one of the busiest streets in the Twin Cities.

This isn’t law and order, this state sanctioned terrorism. It’s fucking disgusting.

Chris Murphy: "Let's talk about what's at stake here. The president is spending every single day thinking about invading Greenland, managing the Venezuelan economy, building a ballroom. He's not thinking about the American people at all."

I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

Thank you TCW for this instant classic of Harper’s Letter sophistry, explaining that the categories "right" & "left" are unhelpful in understanding a campaign of kidnappings & assassinations undertaken by an ultra-right wing secret police force at the behest of an ultra-right wing political regime

A couple things on my mind this week that make me sad.
1. Clearly a lot of things wrong in this country that got us to this point, and too many men thinking it’d somehow their right to be the dominant group and never having moved beyond that is a big piece of it.
2. I have no idea how we get out
