I’ve just started watching The Traitors and my main takeaway is that none of us actually know what the hell is going on at any given moment and we all need to probably shut up more.

We're not supposed to know what goes on at the bottom of the ocean. I saw this thing that looked like a carrier bag full of eyes holding an umbrella. That's nobody's business

MrBeast’s dead eyes make me feel sick and I truly believe money won from a man with such eyes is cursed, and in the pagan sense.

Thinking about the fact that growing up I didn’t see my grandparents much so one of my only points of reference for what growing old was like was Sara Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream.

We've been selling online exclusively for the past couple of years, and would like to buy this building for the bookstore so we can get back to selling in-person, so we're running a crowdfunding campaign. You can donate via card or PayPal.

I’m turning 40 soon and I’ve had the typical thought of “what have I got to show for it?”, then I realised I don’t have much to show for it because I haven’t done much. So maybe I should try doing something, sometime? I don’t know.

I disagree with this so vehemently. 🤷‍♀️
Kurt Vonnegut’s definition of what makes something “art” is one of my favorites I’ve seen - from a letter to his brother in 1995.

I really must bite the bullet and switch to Kagi or something, as every time Google hoses some almost-certainly-wrong AI Overview bullshit in my face I find myself physically flinching and averting my eyes as I scroll past it, just in case my mind gets polluted by incorrect information

I read a post about life goals and general fulfilment on the Gen X subreddit and god - they are all so depressed and full of regret and crushed dreams, over there. Nobody is happy. What happened with that generation? It’s put the fear of god into my millennial bones.

What if there is like a council for alien civilisations and each year a kindly alien called Deborah is like “maybe we should try and include earth?” and each year the other aliens on the council throw hotdogs at her and boo.

One of the really special things about Sesame Street was always these little art films that were less about teaching a specific thing than they were about instilling a sort of meditative sense of wonder at how the world works.
Really enjoying this classic Sesame Street segment, two minutes of freestyle jazz riffing on saxophone factory footage

London always smells the same. 'Frowsty,' you think, 'but I'm glad to be back.' And just for a while it bears you up. 'Anything's round the corner,' you think. But long before you get round the corner it lets you drop.

Today at work we did training and at the end of it the trainers asked us all what we had all learnt from the session and an autistic guy that I work with said “what I’ve learnt is that I know a lot of not much at all” and I was like damn.
