every political feeling we have, but they can fill the air with pronouncements about what our feelings allegedly are. The press may not be able to create a conservative mood within us but it can repeatedly announce that a conservative mood exists, thereby doing much to create the impression of such a mood and encouraging conservative forces to come to the fore. The press cannot stop protests, but it can discredit them, ignore them, and declare them to be things of the past, of no interest to people nowadays, thereby discouraging popular political actions. In short, even more than manipulating actual opinions, the media have a great deal of power in controlling opinion visibility.
They create a media image of public opinion that often plays a more crucial role in setting the issue agenda than does actual public opinion
and which has a feedback effect on actual opinion.

This is what a judicial warrant looks like. If a federal agent shows up at your door with a warrant that doesn’t have the judge’s signature, you don’t have to let them in.

Has anyone checked the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront? That's where the Feds stayed during the George Floyd uprising. Los Angeles held noise demos outside wherever the Feds stayed so they never slept and kept getting kicked out by management. Hate to see that here!

I’m so thankful for Councilor Morillo. She’s a rare Oregon leader that doesn’t patronize us.

The feds will instigate and terrorize. Nothing will placate them but subservience.

I actually don’t think we should victim blame protestors for what the feds are going to do. We’ve seen them do it to perfectly peaceful protestors.

People need to be wise, use discretion, and center those most impacted, and I truly detest this rhetoric.

We keep each other safe. If you see ICE or if you know someone who’s been detained, call the PIRC hotline:
1-888-622-1510.

Make sure you’re using the CLEAR model (Count, Location, Equipment, Activity, and Report Time) when you call.

Call the hotline. As always, ensure you have the PIRC hotline number saved and be prepared to call us as soon as possible if your loved one is detained, ICE has stopped you or is at your door, or you witness an ICE detention. Please call the hotline, rather than messaging us on social media, or emailing us, as the hotline is where we answer most quickly. Enroll in ECO. If you are not already enrolled in the Equity Corps or Oregon program to receive free legal services, call 1-888-274-7292 (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm). Complete a family emergency plan in case of detention (visit PIRC’s website). Take care to follow all traffic laws. Unfortunately, ICE sometimes uses minor violations to pull people over.
