What a truly beautiful time at the European Intermediate Filament Meeting 2025 in Lyon! I was so glad to meet such a welcoming community.

I'm honored to have won the Best Oral Communication Prize for my recent postdoc project on Vimentin and Autophagy!

Huge thanks to the organizers!

Important study!
Authors identify PDZD8 (renamed LYVAC) as an ER-anchored lipid transfer protein.
In response to lysosomal osmotic stress, it provides lipids to support lysosome swelling.
Unlike ATG2, LYVAC does not supply lipids to damaged lysosomes.
LYVAC/PDZD8 is a lysosomal vacuolator
Lysosomal vacuolation is commonly found in many pathophysiological conditions, but its molecular mechanisms and functions remain largely unknown. Here, we show that the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)–anch...

You know it's going to be good when it says 'ATG16L1-dependent'😜!
Congrats on the great work @carlaalemany.bsky.social, @julianedagraca.bsky.social !!!

(again!) new publication for @membramics-lab.bsky.social, by @carlaalemany.bsky.social & @julianedagraca.bsky.social

in collaboration with N Naffakh & JB Brault, we show that Influenza virus triggers an ATG16L1/Rab11 PI4P response at ER membrane for viral export
