Siccing dogs on people is a slave tracker thing, a Bull Connor thing, a police brutality thing, a jackboot thug thing, an evil abuse of both dog and man which only a fully corrupted spirit could enact.
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

Pardon power is not the problem. More people should be freed from this vicious system. Corruption and organized crime as governance are the problem. Shady pardons are just one symptom of the much larger clusterfuck we're in. If you zoom in too much on any detail as "the problem," you lose the plot.

this is still nuts to me. the “babies of slaves” comment feels like its meant to reassure descendants of slaves that they won’t be impacted but if the amendment is repealed, with this logic, it would impact descendants of slaves most directly. slaves were never “documented”. that was the point.

i am looking into my crystal ball and it is telling me that the democrats are going to pick up “abolish ice” as an issue (“its chuck. i need $10 to abolish ice”) and when they succeed it will be a true dem party solution: a bill that dissolves the agency on paper and does literally nothing else.
