Perhaps I can help this research effort.

1. Origins of TDS lie in revulsion at a dangerous bigot coming to power.

2. Manifestations of TDS include joining others to resist Trump’s authoritarian efforts.

3. Effects of TDS are an enlivening of the intellect snd a sharpening of the conscience.
Shamp’s Senate Bill 1070 would direct the #Arizona Dept of Health Services to conduct or support research to “advance the understanding of Trump Derangement Syndrome, including its origins, manifestations and long-term effects on individuals, communities and public discourse.”

Over at X, Elon has added a feature that allows you to edit any image anyone has posts using AI

I edited an image of a real scientific paper (left) with the prompt "change the title and images to be more fear-inducing"

I can envision no ways in which this may be abused. None at all. 🧪

NYT shows how Bari Weiss really screwed this up.

She didn't attend any of the 5 screenings of the story, which began on Dec. 12.

She only first weighed in on Thursday, and the show incorporated her suggestions.

She then waited until weekend to ask for more edits.

Absolutely riveting longread on a narrowly-averted aviation disaster in December 2000 when a hijacker took control of a plane and attempted to crash it in the Sahara. Just a few months later, the flight's officer asked British Airlines to tighten cockpit security.

We all know what happened next.

Months before 9/11 a passenger seized control of a Boeing 747 and nearly crashed it into the Sahara. Everyone survived but no one quite recovered. How do you measure the cost of a disaster that didn't...
