Anyone else check out new followers on BSky? I'm finding that 75% of the 'people' who follow me are suspect and likely trolls. Easy to identify cat-fishers, but I've found new followers who post lots of great posts (too many?). A few hundred posts in 5 days? Suspect. #bskysafety #trolls

I apologize, no, I acknowledge to my 30-something-old kids that I grew up in a fantasy 'sweet spot', where we thought that social progress was inevitable and we believed in capitalism (to an extent). Thirty years ago I absolutely believed that the world would continue to get better. I was mistaken.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".
