Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you don’t squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

My heart is heavy tonight hearing the news about our friend and legend Rob Reiner and his wife. I can’t begin to imagine what their family is going through right now. Rob has brought so much to our culture and our conversations with his work, his voice, his humanity matter, and so much more.

They were kind people. Extraordinarily normal and very, very kind.

When they started in on trans women, it was just a matter of time. Less estrogen because of menopause? You might not look lady enough for the bathroom police. I wish people understood that protecting other people's rights means you get more rights.

Rob Reiner, for a while there, was one of the most artistically and commercially successful directors in Hollywood. He had a run of films that knocked the roof off. With STAND BY ME, he gave voice to Stephen King’s work that we hadn’t seen since CARRIE and SALEM’S LOT and rarely since.

ICE pepper-sprayed this 1-year-old girl.
Once at the hospital, the doctor had to call in a poison control specialist.
They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.
