I think it's important to read carefully: Blacksky is great, and they've got the entire ATmosphere's hopes pinned on them (which is frankly an unfair burden), and this is Bluesky's fault not Blacksky's

But it does show that "credible exit" has yet to be achieved, let alone decentralization

Update from Link. He said he still is banned despite being under BlackSky PDS cause BlueSky servers still used? :( idk

Just sharing what I’m told.
Screenshot of an iMessage conversation between Aveta and contact ‘AJ’ at 1:21. The conversation shows:

Aveta (blue bubbles): ‘If you get account back’ ‘Move to BlackSky immediately’
AJ (gray bubbles): ‘I am on Blacksky.’ ‘lol’
Aveta: ‘Wait what’ ‘WHAT’
AJ: ‘But they still use Bsky servers.’
Aveta: ‘How tr’ ‘Oh yeah… well shit’ (marked as Delivered)
AJ: ‘That’s how they got me.’ ‘You should include that too.’ ‘Decentralized moderation my ass.’

At the bottom is a notification banner reading ‘AJ has notifications silenced’ with a moon icon.

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.

This feels like evidence Trump's aides are deliberately gaslighting him, which is unfortunately very easy to do with dementia sufferers (Trump did it to his father) and which aides are using to seize control of the US military for their own purposes.

The “LLM AIs are actually people and you mustn’t bully them” thing is like instituting a full murder investigation into that train that got walled up in Thomas the Tank Engine because it had a face on it.

Sen. Brian Schatz, a Democrat from Hawaii, bailed on Bluesky because people kept pointing out how often he would vote for Trump’s bullshit while talking tough.

Twitter is supposed to be his safe space where he can talk a big game while rubber stamping fascism so this is clearly devastating for him

well…yes

VARNEY: You canceled almost $8b of energy projects, most of them in blue states. Are you punishing the blue states?

CHRIS WRIGHT: We are punishing the wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars ... do you want to subsidize E-bike lanes lanes in Portlandia?

PSA to AI enthusiasts trying to talk to the less-convinced:

As a drone tech specialist, I occasionally do get VERY frustrated when I’m talking to non-experts about my area of expertise.

The answer to this is “logging off for a while,” not “Sephiroth posting about how everyone else is DUMB.”

Running out of ways to communicate they are violating the consntitution
paleofuture.bsky.social
Trump calls for ICE and other cops to enforce his executive order banning flag burning, something that’s blatantly unconstitutional given Texas v Johnson (1989), which established flag burning as protected speech.
To ICE, Border Patrol, Law Enforcement, and all U.S. Military: As per my August 25, 2025
Executive Order, please be advised that, from this point forward, anybody burning the American Flag will be subject to one year in prison. You will be immediately arrested. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Speaking as a drone tech specialist, I have also never attempted to argue that people who are uncomfortable with drones are *bad people*, because that is both inaccurate and a hilariously awful communication strategy.

There are lessons here for AI enthusiasts.

I mean, you don’t _have_ to take constructive advice. One time this guy started to listen to critiques from me & others (see clip below), and for years it worked really great and the ecosystem thrived. Then he decided to go the exact opposite way. I wonder how it turned out. youtu.be/oXkW0W9jCN0

Very good work by Chris Hayes and team. Featuring the ICE raid of a Chicago apartment building turned upside down. Every resident yanked from home and taken outside. Even children were tied together with restraints.

Chris puts the events in a legal context, linking it to other egregious examples.

An organizer friend says, repeatedly, that if it weren’t for Black women leaders there’d be no organizing. The church, naacp, D9 teach them how to organize, from the ground up in many cases. That and Heritage about the other massive training infrastructures left.
ebonyteach.blacksky.app
While this country has been out here slandering us, calling us DEI... I have to chuckle.

The average Black person raised during or before circa 1990-ish has more than likely led or organized *something.*

If we're outspoken, from home to school to church to the 'hood...

Y'all aren't hearing me.

Jay Bhattacharya sent a pre-recorded video to NIDDK Council, too. But I get it.

It's hard to face your staff when you lie about them.

Even harder to face researchers when you're willing to break the U.S. scientific enterprise just to get a position of power you're in no way qualified for.

An email to Director Bhattacharya to start the day

1/6
Dear Director Bhattacharya:

I attended the NIAID Council meeting online. I wanted to raise two points. First, I was disappointed that you sent a video of your presentation rather than showing up in person or, at least, attending live but virtually. You are missing out on important opportunities to interact with NIH staff and Advisory Council members. These individuals use their expertise and considerable time and energy to try to further the NIH mission. In addition, you are sending a signal about your priorities. This is especially true when you spend your time by appearing on The Glenn Show within a day. I realize that it was important to try to clean up the mess made primarily by President Trump at your press conference when he said repeatedly "Don't Take Tylenol!".
