Funnily enough, when people asked why a bloke who hit a policeman in a riot in Southport got three years when somebody on a gantry on the M25 in a non-violent protest got four, somebody said "yebbut the M25 protestor had previous".

But so did the bloke in Southport, several convictions for violence
