It is equally easy & possible to write, "Trump weighs violating US treaty commitments under the UN and NATO by seizing the sovereign territory of one of our closest allies" You don't have to normalize & sanewash reality. Other purely factually accurate, more serious choices remain readily available.

It is equally easy & possible to write, "Trump weighs violating US treaty commitments under the UN and NATO by seizing the sovereign territory of one of our closest allies" You don't have to normalize & sanewash reality. Other purely factually accurate, more serious choices remain readily available.

I don't recall off hand who made the point about AI being, more than anything else, a machine for displacing responsibility. That increasingly looks like its most reliable feature

One theory I have is that competence, self-control, responsibility, and expertise have all been feminized, leaving “masculinity” with the realm of impulsivity and petulance. So the divide is not really between “femininity” and “masculinity” so much as between adulthood and childishness.
Everything else aside, the idea that this is a model for many men of *masculinity* is so wild. This? This is "manly"? This is how people think it's cool to act?

Importantly, this wouldn't have passed without Dem support. There was enough of a split within Republican ranks that if Dems had voted against the bill it would've been doa. Giving Trump a blank check to warmonger *and* passing an anti-trans measure was a choice.
