Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should & should not apply to. Because none of us then has rights, just privileges that can be taken away by those in power

Just so we're clear, one incident of alleged anti-semitism by a musician = a major national scandal that should be roundly condemned.

Multiple incidents of alleged anti-semitism from the man leading the race to run the country = a load of nothing that should be completely ignored

BTW, I’ve heard more overt racism in the past week than I heard in the previous 10 years, if anyone is wondering how things are going in “normal Britain”.

Well done everyone: we’ve made racism acceptable again.
Can we go back to responding to racism and antisemitism with disgust and opprobrium please?

The owners of the Daily Mail must thank their lucky stars every day their readership is too stupid to think “hang on…ten years ago you said Brexit would make this country boom…& now it’s getting more sh*t by the year…& your proposed solution is put those people who brought the sh*tness into power.”🤔

What is also beyond parody is that the place @dailymail.co.uk chooses to highlight the gulf between booming Poland and failing Britain is Sunderland - a city famous for being the first to declare for Brexit. Shouldn’t it be thriving by now?

Amazing piece…so funny….”when we told the Poles to go home we didn’t mean it literally”
Amazing, the @dailymail.co.uk manages to publish an entire lengthy feature bewailing (!!!!) the exodus of Poles from Britain without once mentioning Brexit. Apparently this outcome (which is surely exactly what they campaigned for in 2016) is all the fault of Keir Starmer.

The great exodus: How Poles are ditching UK for their booming homeland
New statistics reveal that while 7,000 Poles arrived in the year ending last June, 25,000 returned home: a net outflow of 18,000. The UK's total Polish population has shrunk to 750,000.

ah yes, all workers should have the right to hurl racial slurs at black customers

It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

But in our view, this is a fundamentally flawed understanding of the ethical framework that governs the legal profession, allowing a client’s interests - no matter how dubious - to override other professional duties that safeguard the public interest:
Lawyers claiming to act in the public interest should be more transparent
Lawyers should be prepared to justify their actions when claiming to act in the public interest, says a leading UCL law professor in a new report, that cites both the Post Office Horizon and Harvey Weinstein scandals.
