An insane, perfect encapsulation of it all:

The same day Trump’s agents kill a Veterans Affairs ICU nurse in broad daylight, the CEOs of Apple and Amazon join Trump to watch a private screening of a film about his wife directed by an alleged sexual abuser who was seen shirtless in the Epstein Files

This exceptional photo from David Guttenfelder drives home the point that these are not law enforcement officers; they are an untrained street gang doing the bidding of their fascist leaders.

Yep. This is all useful theatre with the ultimate aim of ensuring the US never sees free and fair elections again.
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

You can’t shame someone like Stephen Miller. He doesn’t care what you say about him. He only understands power. The only time he will ever comprehend what he’s done is when he’s in a cell or standing in the gallows with a noose around his neck.

Imagine what’s happening in the places there are no cameras, like the concentration camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

I don’t think Americans fully comprehend where this is headed.
This is an actual post from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: Praising ICE after Alex Pretti was killed, blaming the Democratic leadership of Minnesota, and writing that ICE is greater/better than Minnesota.

He is actively demeaning the people of Minnesota just hours after Pretti was murdered.

US companies will be queuing up to provide this technology to ICE.
New: Amid the escalating situation in Minneapolis, ICE posted in the Federal Register asking companies to provide info about “commercial Big Data and Ad Tech” products that would “directly support investigations activities”

ICE Asks Companies About ‘Ad Tech and Big Data’ Tools It Could Use in Investigations
A new federal filing from ICE demonstrates how commercial tools are increasingly being considered by the government for law enforcement and surveillance.

They are building a database of people they find undesirable.
“We have a nice little database, & now you’re considered domestic terrorists” says an ICE agent after photographing a civilian who was videotaping them. Posted today by Brian Allen on X. h/t @allenanalysis.bsky.social

One you change your allegiance to Russia, North Korea becomes less of a threat.

Once Trump gets wind of this, he’ll try to stop outbound transfers. Probably claim it’s “his gold”.
Bild: Multiple german politicians are now pressuring Germany to bring back more than $100 billion in gold from the U.S. because trust in Washington is falling.

This is ok, provided no Americans travel outside of the US and no one travels to the US. But if people want to travel, it’s probably not a good idea at all.
Breaking News: Rejecting decades of science, the chair of the federal panel that recommends vaccines for Americans said that shots against polio and measles — and perhaps all diseases — should be optional. The vaccines are credited with preventing disability and millions of deaths worldwide.
Vaccine Panel Chair Says Polio and Other Shots Should Be Optional, Rejecting Decades of Science
Dr. Kirk Milhoan, a pediatric cardiologist who leads the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, said a person’s right to refuse a vaccine outweighed concerns about illness or death from infectious diseases.

A strategic mistake.
"According to information obtained by SPIEGEL, a US billionaire has acquired parts of Germany's fuel logistics network, including access to NATO airports and pipelines. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has approved the deal subject to conditions."
Ein US-Milliardär hat nach SPIEGEL-Informationen Teile von Deutschlands Treibstofflogistik übernommen, inklusive Zugang zu Nato-Flughäfen und Pipelines. Das Wirtschaftsministerium erlaubt den Deal unter Auflagen.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Imagine what ICE is doing in terms of illegal surveillance.
This DHS memorandum says that the DHS General Counsel's office has adopted a new position that the Fourth Amendment allows entry into the home to make an arrest just based on an administrative warrant.

I would like to see that argument.

Leavitt is doing the job she was hired to do: lie to the American people on behalf of Donald Trump.
Karoline Leavitt is denying that Trump mixed up Greenland and Iceland multiple times during his speech today.

The US has joined Russia to elevate far right groups in Europe. The goal? Weaken and destabilise Europe and ultimately break up the EU.
Meanwhile, U.S. Members of Congress appeared alongside George Simion, leader of Romania’s far-right AUR—a figure widely criticized for pro-Russian rhetoric and positions—while cutting a Greenland-shaped cake decorated with a U.S. flag.

Why would Trump intervene to help the Iranian people?

What’s in it for him?
Trump publicly promised Iranians support during the protests, but the United States never intervened, leaving many feeling betrayed and disillusioned, – The Washington Post.

The brutal crackdown on protesters and the absence of any real action from Washington pushed people into uncertainty.

Data exfiltration was a core objective of DOGE. Did people really think they intended to use the data to help solve America’s problems?

The US is now working with Russia to elevate right wing groups in Europe.

Extraordinarily dangerous and Europe will need to resist.
Amazing moment on French TV. A French judge explains how Trump sent people from the US Embassy basically trying to intimidate her during Le Pen's trial for embezzlement - something they've done to other judges around the world.

It’s a shame that Robert Mugabe isn’t alive. He’d be a perfect addition to Donald Trump’s Board of Peace.
Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has now signed the document on Belarus's accession to Trump's "Board of Peace."

Trump's "Board of Peace" currently consists of United States, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Albania, and Uzbekistan.

I will never get over the fact that the Republican Party chose as its standard-bearer, and this country elected as its President, quite possibly the worst human being on the planet.
Trump: "ICE is gonna be too rough with somebody. They're gonna make a mistake sometimes. I felt horribly when I was told the young woman had the tragedy. But when I learned her father is - I hope he still is, but I don't know - was a tremendous Trump fan. It's terrible. It's so sad. It just happens"
