AISH is already so difficult to qualify for. Now they will automatically switch people to ADAP and then those people will have to reapply to go back on AISH when ADAP doesn't work out for them.

#yeg #alberta
“AISH is intended to support Albertans with severe disabilities that result in them being permanently unable to work,” said the statement. “ADAP will empower Albertans with disabilities who are able to work to pursue fulfilling job opportunities while continuing to receive the supports they need.”

Those on AISH will be automatically transferred to ADAP come July 1, 2026.

The core benefit for ADAP is a proposed $1,740 per month. AISH offers a monthly benefit of $1,901.

If an ADAP client is unable to find a job after receiving employment services, they will continue to receive financial and health benefits, said the province. If their medical condition progresses to the point where they are unable to work, they can be assessed for AISH.

From July 1, 2026 to Dec. 31, 2027, people can choose to remain on ADAP or be assessed for AISH. The province said it will continue to match the AISH amount during that period.

Those who wish to stay on AISH will need to provide a disability assistance medical report which will be reviewed by a disability assistance adjudicator and referred to the AISH medical review panel for final determination of eligibility.

If the panel determines an individual is not eligible, they will remain on ADAP.

Employment income exemptions will be reduced for AISH clients when ADAP comes into effect.

On Sunday, #Zürich residents voted 52.8% in favor of increasing parking fees for cars according to weight.

The owner of a BMW X2 (Diesel), which weighs 1,675 kilograms, will now pay equivalent of €717 Euros per year to park on a public street. (Before, about €321.)

After my August "pre-order," I got an email today to book a COVID shot, which reiterates it's ONLY available at public health clinics, not pharmacies.

The email links to a site that EXCLUDES bookings at pharmacies. 🙃

The correct link then says: "COVID-19 vaccines may be available at pharmacies" 🫠
Reminder to book your immunization appointment

This e-mail is your reminder to book your immunization appointment for the vaccine(s) you pre-ordered.

Please note: The COVID-19 vaccine is available only at public health centers. A fee may apply, and you may be turned away if you are not eligible. Please check your eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine at https://www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-Albertans .

Individuals eligible for both the COVID-19 (Phase 1) and influenza vaccines can start booking on September 29, 2025. Everyone else is asked to wait and book starting October 20, 2025 (Phase 2).

BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT: https://bookvaccine.alberta.ca/vaccine/s/booking

This email address is not monitored so please do not reply. Book an immunization appointment online

To book an appointment for influenza or other vaccines (excluding COVID-19) at a pharmacy, please enter your details below.

To book an appointment for COVID-19 vaccine at a public health clinic, please click here to use Connect Care. In phase 2, vaccine is available for all other Albertans age 6 months and older depending on vaccine availability. If you are in phase 2, you can book an appointment starting October 20. There will be a $100 administrative cost.

COVID-19 vaccines may be available at pharmacies at a cost. Contact your pharmacy for availability, to learn the cost, and how to book.

Yeah, we managed to keep PP out but when folks were criticizing your saviour, far too many of you said critiques were divisive. Are you doing shit now? This man is draped in a liberal flag but he's the same flavour as Stephen Harper.

People in palestine are bracing for greater crackdown as Israel punishes them for statehood recognition by UK, Canada, & Australia.

As I, and many others, have pointed out - these proclamations of recognition do nothing to stop the violence.

I was interviewed for a piece in The Globe and Mail by the amazing Amberly McAteer on the impact of Canadian employers implementing back-to-office policies.

We are moving backwards and are at risk of losing the employment gains made by Canadian women coming out of the acute phases of the pandemic.
When companies force workers back to the office, working moms are left behind
Return-to-office orders are forgetting - or ignoring - the needs of working moms

The first time an Alberta government invoked the notwithstanding clause, public outrage forced a reversal in less than 24 hours. I wish to God Albertans would show the same moral fury now, when school children are outed & bullied by the government that is supposed to protect them. #ableg #abpoli

Danielle Smith often calls herself the most 'freedom-loving' politician in Canada, yet she's repeatedly infringed on your fundamental human rights.

Her actions are simply cruel, wrong, and politically motivated.

Hi. I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating: we have to be able to criticize Mark Carney without living in fear that doing so will help Poilievre or weaken Canada. He is our Prime Minister. Out of anyone, he deserves to be watched and critiqued. We should all be dying on this hill.

I think one of the things people misunderstand about being anti-ChatGPT and related products is that they are being forced into institutions and other products and services in ways that affect all of our lives whether they work or *not* and we will all have to deal with the consequences
