Bedoya: There’s the first bidding war: how much are you going to give Warner Bros. Discovery? The second bidding war is: what are you going to give Trump?

Every one of these mergers is a chance for Trump to get his hooks into these networks, and their ability to make fun of him or criticize him.

The DOJ identified at least 10 co-conspirators who worked with Epstein and Maxwell. It’s obvious to anyone with two eyes that Epstein and Maxwell were engaged in organized crime, yet NO ONE ELSE involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring has faced criminal charges. Why?

I’m sure Trump is innocent of this Epstein stuff because he isn’t on video bragging about grabbing women & hasn’t had 27 different women accuse him of sex assault or bragged about going into beauty pageant dressing rooms when they’re naked or talked about how hot his daughter is.

Garcia: First, let’s be very honest about what’s happening. This is a White House cover-up. They are now involved in an illegal cover-up of the Epstein files. They’re defying Congress. They’re defying their own base. They’re lying to the American people.

I know she's just kind of saying whatever, but it's on-brand for Bari Weiss to review a damning story about the US sending people to a concentration camp and respond "we can't air this, have you even asked Tom Homan if he feels bad about any of it yet?" Perfect readout of who she sees, and doesn't.

As is the case with Musk, and even Trump, the most grotesque part is not their existence — awful people have always been around and always will be. The most grotesque part is nominally smart or honest or decent people taken in by them. Or, at least, pretending to be taken in, for advantage.

If refusing to comment is enough to kill a story, then the government now has veto power over journalism.
That’s what CBS normalized last night — and it should scare everyone.

Pulling a finished investigation because the administration refused to comment isn’t journalism. It’s submission.

We have a stock market where the value of a company is nakedly manipulated by companies pretending to create economic value. A “good company” is not the same in a market devoured by growth. Everything feels rigged, probably because it kind of is!
