Federal agents cannot murder people in broad daylight and face zero consequences.

I will NOT support the DHS bill as it stands.

The DHS bill needs to be split off from the larger funding package before the Senate—Republicans must work with us to do that.

I’ll keep fighting to rein in DHS and ICE.

Sorry/not sorry for the title I came up with for my Comics Journal Scott Adams obituary.

In light of her extensive work to get anti-trans positions stripped from the current HHS funding bill, I think Rep. McBride is owed some serious apologies by a lot of people on this site.

Sun workstations used to have a clock chip with an integral battery. It held not just date and time but also more important things like the Ethernet MAC, so they wouldn't boot without it. I used to sand off the plastic on one end of the chip to expose the battery terminals and apply external power.

Asks me, "Is it still launch day?"
"Yes," I lie. "Always."

This is, like, 90% of arguments on Bluesky.
Oh look, yet another guy who's more angry at Democrats than he is at Republicans.

Someday maybe we'll find the isolationist who whispered "I wish the US would stop trying to be policeman to the world" while holding a monkey's paw.

'Why that number?'

The kiosk demo of Mario Kart DS contained "Flesh Trucks" due to a spelling error. While the error was fixed in the final version, looking at the preview image for GCN Mushroom Bridge very closely shows that the truck still has an L. As such, the memory of the Flesh Truck remains.

"you cannot build a successful political movement on Candace Owens schizo-posting"
Having gathered on X, Republicans discover what Democrats already knew -- there are downsides to being a Very Online party that airs disputes in public battles for engagement.

Something is shifting. People I've never known to be political are suddenly angry. They're not in a movement, they haven't read theory or any of the other things protesters are supposed to do first. It's just a tense instability, like gasoline vapors building toward the lower explosive limit.

Ultimately Newsom's problem is he so badly wants to seem reasonable that he's incapable of disagreeing with anyone face to face. He's what Leftists pretend that all Democrats are like.

We have far better options and I seriously doubt he'll be the nominee.

Different places teach you different things about civilization.

In Michigan I learned industries can die and leave forever, collapsing whole towns behind them like badly-erected tents. Communities can recover, but only after enough people leave for the economy to find a new, lower equilibrium.

Today Bluesky keeps flipping me to the Discover feed instead of the Following feed. Because of my username my Discover feed is about 75% German, so this isn't hard to detect.

Many inexplicable decisions by tech bros make sense if you realize they all believe in the Singularity, aka the "nerd Rapture."

Why try to build sentient AI? Wouldn't a non-sentient one be more dependable? Well, it's proof of concept for a computer complex enough to upload your brain into. (1/2)

In particular, there's a weird instinct with people on the left where they'll viciously attack someone for disagreeing with them 10% of the time, while having no problem with people who disagree with them 100% of the time.
There are definitely things to be called out for, but man, I've seen too many people driven away with pitchforks over the slightest thing. Like figure out what battles need to be fought, man.
At a certain point, social media became such that content creators, performers, and artists all found themselves held hostage by a herd mentality that will happily boost their work one day and then rip them to shreds the next over something so trivial or immaterial.

It's been difficult to watch.

I’ve known so many people who go through life like there’s one set of standards for everyone else, and another, much harsher set of standards for them and only them.

Give yourself a break. Believe in yourself the way you would believe in a friend.

A while ago I started getting YouTube ads in Spanish. I don't really mind, but I was curious why that might be, so I Googled it. And holy cow, are there ever a lot of extremely angry racists out there who can't stand hearing anything in a language they don't understand.

It's funny...Scott Adams announced his own cancer diagnosis shortly after Biden announced his own, in a way that made it pretty obvious he was trying to upstage him. And yet, Biden still outlived him.

Anyway, here's hoping I get to check off more squares on my 2026 bingo card.
