The HTB post reminded me of the journey with “support” I got during, and especially my first two to three years as a junior while thinking I was losing my mind pointing out toxic behaviors.

I fell into Test Engineering by accident. A friend at GE Appliances told me to apply to their SWQA team and all the things that frustrated previous managers turned out to be strengths for this sort of role.
It allows me to combine my wide & deep knowledge of how things work and my love for details.

I initially wanted to go into academia, but after multiple mental health crises in my university career and a year in philosophy grad school, I decided I should go to industry instead. Infosec had been a hobby of mine since I was 14-15, so I did some talks and an internship and that was that.
