For folks still struggling with the math:

There are ~345 million US citizens.

There are ~245 million white US citizens.

This is what they mean by "Peaceful ethnic cleansing." Their plan ends with deporting all non-white people.

Not "undocumented criminals."

Not even "all undocumented people."
This should not be shrugged aside. They have stopped with the fake 22 million illegal immigrants things and are flat out saying we want to deport 10's of millions of citizens and legal residents from "third world countries" Basically they are advocating removing 1/3 of the population on a gov site.

If a software product interacs in a way that imitates a human, the law should consider it an agent of the company just like a human employee, with the people who deploy it held accountable in the same way.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020) is a beautiful film about how the power of algebra in a black-majority victorian world brings estranged families back together that is really let down by its title

Not every problem but probably 60-70% of the problems online could be mitigated by understanding that people you don't know/don't like are still capable of kidding around.

and the same thing is ALSO true about coding which is what truly drives me mad.
If it was just another case of ignorant tech solutionism being pushed on fields they look down on, that’d still suck but at least be consistent. But it doesn’t even work IN tech.
the thing that drives me insane about genAI/chatgpt bullshit is that brother, the process IS the work IS the entire thing. no artist comes to art for the final result. the final result is inextricable from the fucking labor that came into making it

Reading this judgement I’m once again impressed how clear the writings of UK judges are. The facts always laid out clearly, minimal jargon, paragraphs dealing with legal specifics are nicely contained and pretty much skippable by lay people like myself. A pleasure to have in class ✨
For anyone who's interested, the judgment is available here:

This guy must have been preparing answers for the inevitable “your grandpa was the country’s most famous fascist” question and then the boss is like “it’s why we wanted to hire you”
And then there’s the story about Alex Karp’s not-at-all-weird interview (for lack of a better word) with Oswald Mosley’s grandson for a senior position at Palantir.

The only solution to the increase of AI slop and its creep into normal people’s style choices is to write and speak with deranged and unpredictable flair.

Drip quotes and allusions, syntax so specific it cannot be modelled however large the data centres.

One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential
