Okay, unlike most, this actually does require a watch to the end
I can’t emphasize enough how much you need to watch this until the end

he's checking social media
he's forgetting to set the reminder
he's waking up in the middle of the night realizing he completely spaced it

"House of Commons Jerk Seasoning" is 1) an extremely funny concept and more importantly 2) a sign of a complete and total victory for cultural pluralism in a way that is kind of difficult to concieve
Look, I know things aren’t great at the moment for (a) anyone, and (b) the Labour Party, but fuck me that’s bleak

Writing about the 'parent penalty', i.e. parents are typically more stressed/unhappy than non-parents

One rare country where this doesn't occur is Portugal

I'm *not* saying it's significant that parents are much happier in a country that decriminalised drugs

But I *am* thinking it pretty hard...

What's breaking people is being in a kind of permanent low grade flight or fight response they can't get out of, while having to pretend they're not having it, going about their lives as if everything is fine when it isn't.

And also, life is not supposed to be *permanently* stressful. We're adapted to short periods of stress. If you maintain that kind of thing for weeks, let alone months or years, with no respite or hope, that's putting people into PTSD territory.
Right, but is it that we’re “forgotten life can be stressful” or is it that neoliberal capitalism doesn’t allow us to have natural, normal reactions to stress, so we seek treatment? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The final #F1 race of the season is this weekend and we will not know who wins the championship until we see which McLaren Max collides with in turn one.

They fuck you up your mum & dad, They may not mean to but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra just for you

Lord you have made me

What to do with the gift
Of all I was fighting for

As a parent I endorse this message
Since becoming a parent I have not, in fact, understood the parents who say “if you were a parent you’d understand” about vaccine hesitancy. Being in charge of this fragile little miracle has me saying things like “give her all the vaccines. Turn this baby into a pincushion” to doctors

Watching an ADHD reel about cooking thinking "I can't relate, OMG, maybe I don't have ADHD" then reading the comments from diagnosed ADHDrs about their 'system to avoid this' that is exactly what I do and realising when I don't do the system the vid perfectly illustrates the chaos that ensues
