oh neat! shopify, one of the internet's most popular e-commerce platforms, is making it so customers can buy things from stores directly in conversations with AI chatbots! and they're opting every single seller in automatically! this fucking sucks!

The agentic commerce platform: Shopify connects any merchant to every AI conversation
Shopify now enables native commerce at scale across all major AI channels and built an open standard, co-developed with Google.

Keep hearing devs say that they only use ai for "pre-concept art"

There is no pre-concept art. There is concept art. That's where the idea starts. With the concept.

You're using ai for concept art.

I'll add that mockery only really works (but then works *exquisitely* well) when a small deep gnawing part of the person being mocked knows - or at least suspects - that it's true and they deserve it. You can't effectively mock someone who's truly confident in who they are and what they're doing.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny
It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

And if you try to borrow our struggle for your aesthetics again, expect to be held accountable.

Those are powerful symbols you need to earn. You do not deserve them. 3/

When, at some point, the Overton window shifts left. Even slightly. What we're NOT going to do is allow all those big companies, brands etc suddenly put their rainbow flag cosplay back on.

We are NOT going to allow them to pretend they didn't just drop us as they decided we weren't fashionable. 1/

Every year since 2020 they raise the prices, as a bit.

Meanwhile the service gets worse and they keep using gAI .

irrational pet peeve: When people post things like, "I hated this TV show, can someone explain to me what I'm missing?"

Nothing. You're missing nothing. It's just not for you. Go find what is for you.

It just feels so self-important. "Share your thoughts I diagree with so I can not agree with it."

Intregued at how @disappointment.bsky.social contributed to this, and facinated at him probably not being involved whatsoever and one of his characters breaking containment.

“why do people use works of fiction to illustrate the evils of fascism instead of real life history” idk dude everyone’s been so under-taught and over-propagandized to that sometimes the only way for the truth to sneak in is with the shroud of fiction

O'Donovan is both deeply incurious and nakedly ambitious, a boring combination that should be far away from any sort of power and influence
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."

Every person on Bluesky should know:
* Every post on Bluesky is PUBLIC forever
* Every post on Bluesky is archived by ICE, NSA, and many other agencies
* Even if you delete a post, it’s already been captured
* Judges don’t care if you were “kidding” or being ironic

1. You do not need to watch a video of ICE murdering someone in order to be an informed citizen.

2. Not clear why posters are uploading that unredacted, uncensored video to this niche social media site full of people who already hate ICE. What are you doing???

It says a lot about any given ending that people would rather reduce it or re-arrange it to the gold standard of bad endings, "It was all a dream". That they'd rather imagine that than what they have.
in a form of carcinisation of human thought, all fandom reaction will, regardless of context, inevitably reproduce the Mass Effect 3 Indoctrination Theory

Yes, giving money to a person who spends their money trying to invent new forms of genocide every day is definitely bad.

No, people being glad a character you liked died is not bad.

Get a grip. Stop being a weirdo about this.

Which is to say, if you believe a topic is important, the most crucial thing you can do to convince people it's important is not to become the focal point, but to build solidarity with your peers. You must be selfless in what you care about.
