Ultimately the crackdown on transness has never been about trans people its never been about us. Its the struggle between the firm hand of heteronormative patriarchy and the freedom of feminism, bodily autonomy, reproductive rights. We are just the border where that war is fought
There’s just no subtlety or smarts to transphobic thought and its a mistake to assign it any. Its a very base and banal thing. Just the manifestation of belief in the base structures of patriarchal heterosexual society and that people should know their place in it

“determine” is the key word.

Okay, here is the only paragraph in the judgment on the Equality Act that uses the word “determine” and it says that such determinative effect is unlawful direct discrimination.

In a screeching u-turn from its Manifesto the Government now backs conversion therapy for trans people. That is what 'supporting' trans youth but denying them the medicine they need to physically transition means.

This! If Musk or Bezos or Altman or Bill Gates truly wanted to make Star Trek real, they could do it right now by spending all their wealth to help dismantle this capitalist colonial system.
one of the things a lot of technocrats don't get about Star Trek is that the future of Star Trek?

it can be *right now*

we don't need spaceships, we don't need replicators, we just need a society that is built for humans and not...um...

We are NOT going to allow them to pretend they didn't just drop us as they decided we weren't fashionable. 1/

Nadim Zahawi arrived in the UK from Iraq as a child refugee. His family claimed asylum once they were here. Today he has joined Reform who will stop all in country asylum applications. Under his new party, his own family fleeing persecution would be immediately deported.

Tomorrow, there will be oral arguments in a major SCOTUS case on transgender sports.

At least, that's how it's being reported everywhere.

But it's not just about sports. The ruling could change transgender rights for a generation, and impacts EVERYTHING.

The time for Americans to stop this is yesterday. They are doing it. It is happening. The unthinkable is the only logical end point to this.

What Elon Musk is doing to women protesting his humiliation of them = what TERFs do to trans people protesting their humiliation of them = what the pro-Genocide media does to those protesting against Israel's actions in Gaza.
'You Hate Free Speech' is the go-to Far Right smear every time a targeted group pushes back.

Would be great if headlines like this helped people understand that ugly tactic.

If your MP is on BlueSky, do feel free to tag them.

Remaining on X, a platform which that allows for the mass manufacturing of non-consensual sexual images of women and minors, is no longer endorsement.

The government needs to leave it.

Now.
