More than two weeks ago I called for Democratic governors to redistrict 30 Republicans out of their seats.

I stand by that.

Democrats in Congress are warming to a strategy of maximum retaliation in response to Republicans' efforts to draw more favorable congressional maps ahead of the 2026 elections.

This is the only sentence John Tierney wrote about Covid that anyone should read.

Because once you do, you’ll know nothing he has to say about the pandemic has any value at all.

This is enough to discredit him permanently, which is why he hides it today.

From fall 2020.

And @theatlantic.com 🤦‍♂️

PSA Neck gaiters are not masks. Neck gaiters are not effective at stopping the spread of airborne viruses. Masks, especially well-fitting ones are effective at preventing infection. Conflating the two is bad because it can encourage politicians to ban masks for the general public.

Apologizing for school closures in the pandemic is nuts. I helped care for an immunocompromised person - my mother - at the time. Covid would have killed her and millions of others. No apologies necessary; the move saved many, many lives.

There’s a measles outbreak in the Canadian province of Ontario that’s twice the size of the one in Texas.

Over 1000 people are sick.

Why isn’t this getting more media attention? People need to be informed of the risk & how to protect themselves.

Vaccinate, wear a respirator, isolate when sick.

Masking discourse is on again and I’ll just say if you see people masking when few others are it’s likely because they’ve determined that for them, in that setting, the benefit of not catching (or spreading) whatever’s going around is worth the cost of masking. It’s rarely more complicated than that
